It's really not. The bowler has warned the batsman that he will not stand for that, and it's a perfectly reasonable stance to take, and so the batsman continuing to do that is a pretty clear sign of time wasting. I mean he knows he won't be allowed do it, so he knows he's just wasting time. The umpires were just making sure they got on with the game, and well how many switch hits has KP attempted since?

As above, KP is allowed to change grip and attempt to switch hit after the ball has been released, because the bowler can't complain anymore. It's just simply a matter of timing.
It is daft because, as Dominic Cork rightly pointed out, it allows the bowler to effectively say to the batsman "you are not allowed to play that shot" - a shot that (again correctly) under the Laws of the Game is perfectly legal.

The bowler is the time waster if anyone, although he can stop his action for many reasons.

Re your last point, the bowler is now considered to be 'in his delivery stride' when he goes into his final bound before delivery (this has particular effect on a run out backing up) so that should be the last point at which the batsman can't change - although (as an umpire) I would allow the batsman to change at any time when the ball is live, but if he changes the LBW becomes available wherever the ball pitches.

Given the way the ball is shooting through at ankle height, Sri Lanka will need rain to save this. How Prasad and Lakmal have played this many test matches is beyond me, worse than Bangladesh's pace attack and Randiv is awful.

Howe Snr has been having a whinge at Samit Patel being in the side all morning. Been keen for him to get runs as a result. Have realized my CW mentality has leaked into real life.

I'm more concerned about my real-life mentality creeping into CW.

Yeah brilliant. Hopefully we can the lead up to 200 and then maybe have a few overs at them.

Lets not get carried away here. Sri Lanka are beyond dire, but Bangladesh take it to a whole new level.

Your real life mentality leeching into your CW posts is something we can all get behind.
