Well this has been a downer. Congrats England.

So if we're just counting bilateral tours, haven't England now been involved in 3 consecutive whitewashes? That's gotta be some type of a weird record.

Almost 5 as well. The ODI series between England and India in August/September finished 3-0 with one abandonment and another tied. Don't know whether you could call it a whitewash.

Even weirder if you count the 4-0 in the tests and 4-0 in the Odi's against India, even though the one day series wasn't a whitewash.

Hmm this KP at the Top of the order thing might work, let him play himself in a bit and he can turn up the heat if he still there later on.

Felt he was done in ODIers before this series began, now I'm reckoning him still been there at the WC.

If Dernbach bowls more than 7 overs today I'll be very surprised.
Sets a high bar, does Howzers.

Must admit I haven't seen a ball he bowled yet, but his figures suggest he came back well.

Gutted for Jos, tbh, but otherwise it looks like another good day at the office. Winning with Cook failing a welcome bonus too.

Very pleased for Sammy as well. Been quietly effective all series. Possible outsider for #6 in the tests? Good enough batsman and would mean we could bring in Bresnan (or Finn) for Monty and still have two spin options (with all due respect to KP's offies).

I'd be opposed to the idea of Patel as a frontline option. If he's to be capped in the Test side it should be on the basis of his batting alone.

True, but that average was pushing 50 a couple of years ago.
Yeah, right enough. Had a dire couple of seasons in 09 & 10 (when his pie-related issues were at their worst), but scored over 1000 runs at 47.5 in 2011.

I'm unashamedly a fan. Better technique that Morgan and I think he's got more in the way of arse (metaphorically as well as literally) than Ravi.

Yeah it wouldn't be the worst move, I'd just rather he was picked because he's the best option at 6, not because he offers a useful bowling optoon.

I like his technique not bad at all, it's quiet wristy.

Morgan's technique recently has gotten more freaky than ever, that knee bend trigger movement he does has got to the stage were he's nearly sat on the floor as the ball is released.
