Clarke's obv.

Sachin's innings stained by the fact he did it partly against Harris and Lopsy imo
AWTA. Not to mention the fact that Clarke did it in a much lower scoring game. Both great innings though.

Also found this interesting:

The Test batting category had the widest gap between the winner and No. 2
If this was to be the case surely it should have been the other way around.

Tendulkar won the best test innings of 2011 though on ESPN Cricinfo, that's what he's referring to.
Still don't see how it is "Indian" bias. Only 4 of the 16 panelists were Indians. Why didn't Dhoni or Sehwag win the ODI batting award otherwise?

If anything it's pro-Tendulkar bias, but without seeing the rationale and acutal listings it's hard to say.

Most definitely wasn't the best innings by the margin of points that it was though.

Yeah definately that. If it wasn't a player like Tendulkar, then I have no doubt Clarke's knock would have easily taken the award. It's silly, but it's just how it goes I guess...Also sometimes feel Clarke is actually underrated/underappreciated by people sometimes as well, so it could be a combination of both things...

I say that more generally too, however. It's blatantly obvious that the only way the vast majority of people know anything about the SA tour was 1. 47ao and 2. Pat Cummins, because they got picked up on and pushed in the media.

Dravid's 146* defined him in my eyes. What a heroic, fighting innings, especially having been forced to open on a seaming wicket with Anderson, Broad and Bresnan bowling, not to mention Swann. Personally, I thought it was the best innings I'd watched live (relatively new cricket fanatic though.). Then came Clarke's 151

I feel too much weight was placed on the result of the match as a whole when they decided the winner TBH. Clarke's was the better because of the result, it was the one brilliant innings of that game, the two at tend were well not so much. The pitch, too made the average Headingley seamer of the 90s seems like Adelaide.

Don't get me wrong, SRT's innings was good but lets be honest it was only against Steyn, Morkel's like a Sri Lanka series Broad half the time Lopsy isn't Ntini and Paul Harris is like Ashley Giles, minus the batting and odd ball that turns.

It will guaranteed be that innings which is criminally underrated by everyone who didn't see it.

The spell was very good, but not mindblowing, imo. To Tendulkar, he was hooping it away from the off stump at around 80mph, just inviting the mistake. To the rest, he was more aggressive and threatening.
What?

As an Indian this is not easy to say but yeah I think Clarke's innings was much much better than Sachin's knock...

I was surprised when I read that Sachin's knock got him the award.
