This is an absolute no contest. Clarke's knock was top drawer of all time, Tendulkar's was just a standard century.
I agree that the Clarke innings was better, but to call tendulkar's 146 a standard century is harsh imo. Top quality test knock in its own right

A standard Test century is hardly childsplay. People tend to view centuries in a 700 plays 500 game as below average and so an average Test century is still pretty good.

Nah, that was an exceptional knock, simply because he had to survive that spell. Not a truly great knock but a top-quality one nonetheless.

Clarke's innings was better, in my opinion. Completely played a different game to anyone else in the game till the fourth innings until Smith came and hit people around for fun. Tendulkar's knock was obviously ****ing good but not thaat good.

That Laxman knock of 96 in 228 where Steyn was bowling just as well last out in the same series' which won India the game in Durban better than both though. Was selected as the experts choice top knock for this thing last year iirc.

He also scored 38 in the first innings which was the second highest innings score after the 96 in the entire game. Really shows the quality of the knock tbh.

It's scary that he played four absolutely stunning back-to-the-wall innings in 2010 and he is where he is now. :(

I don't know why, but it seems like the sort of shot someone would play in the nets.
Haha that's what part of what makes it an awesome shot I guess - he is totally relaxed and fearless about it. Treats Steyn like he is just another net bowler. The ball in itself was hardly bad though, slightly overpitched perhaps...

The spell was very good, but not mindblowing, imo. To Tendulkar, he was hooping it away from the off stump at around 80mph, just inviting the mistake. To the rest, he was more aggressive and threatening.

Typical Steyn stock delivery. If you are on top of your game, you can negotiate it, but if one foot movement is wrong or you're not sure where to play it, you're ****ed.
