Yeah I think he is too, but he's still definitely got Pattinson, Hilfehnaus, Siddle, Harris, Starc and Cummins ahead of him. Probably Johnson too, rightly or wrongly, and maybe Cutting as well (wrongly ). A lot of those blokes are pretty injury prone so he's a chance but he's still a fair way back.

and then there's Bollinger, Johnson, Copeland, maybe McKay, maybe Hogan all around the same area. If he's debuting in tests before the end of the next domestic season either something has gone terribly wrong with those guys or he's taken about 70 wickets in 7 games

Oh god I really hope they don't revert back to someone like Johnson before him. We've got to move on ffs. But yeah injuries/resting injury prone players is def the key for him to get a go. Who knows, they might even give him a go over someone like Starc/Cutting just to see how he fares. Reckon players like Bollinger, McKay, Copeland are pretty much finished, at least in terms of being selected.

When you get to about 8th in line age really shouldn't matter imo, assuming it's a live match. So you just pick the player in the best form. If it's Jonhson then it's Johnson. If it's NCN it's NCN.

The worst thing about this is how unnecessary it was. And we all knew it'd happen when we saw the lineup. FFS.

oh I wasn't referring to age. I just thought the selectors weren't interested in those players at all (Bollinger fitness, Copeland too slow blah blah). No idea really what their stance will be on Johnson when he returns though, although at this stage I'd be leaning towards them bringing him back (simply because they have been somewhat conservative in these kind of decisions so far).
