Presumably Southee would be your 4th seamer which means your side bats deep.Guptill
Nicol
Ryder*
Taylor
McCullum
Williamson
Oram
NcCullum
Bracewell
Mills
4th seamer
Assumption of Ryder being fit = lost the weight, and can get thru some matches without injury
Agree about Ryder needing to prove his fitness. It's now a bit of a luxury we have other options if he isn't fit enough. The key for me will be how Nicol copes against proper opposition.Something like this i'd say:
1.Guptill
2.Nicol
3.McCullum
4.Taylor
5.Ryder
6.Williamson
7.Oram
8.N McCullum
9.Mills
10.Bracewell
11.Southee
There's a few games Ryder will probably be required to get through before that happens.

Nice side overall, but I'd probably stick with Williamson simply because he's a different sort of player & scores in different areas than most of the others, even if he is a tad sluggish sometimes. I can also see him pulling us out of a mess if we were suddenly 50/4 after 13 oversYeah the selectors will have a bloody tough job. Personally, as much as I'm a huge fan of Williamson, I don't think we need both him and Nicol in the team as their bowling is pretty similar. Therefore, my side would be:
1. Guptill
2. Nicol
3. Ryder
4. Taylor
5. McCullum
6. Latham
7. NcCullum
8. Oram
9. Bracewell
10. Mills
11. Southee
Having a few lefties in the lineup will be important against SA I reckon, especially when their 2 spinners are likely to be Peterson and Tahir.
T H(eight)
6'1" to 6'2" imo, not tall for a seamer but more stocky than most
Everything Smith does is gut-based.Lol Ian Smith, how can your gut reaction be out on the replay....Muppet
Steady up brah, he's only been around 5 mins.Poor old Nethula bowling straight breaks, and yet still dragging a couple down every over. Nervous I'd say. Might be a short international career.
Kane Williamson who has a 69 ball hundred?Nice side overall, but I'd probably stick with Williamson simply because he's a different sort of player & scores in different areas than most of the others, even if he is a tad sluggish sometimes. I can also see him pulling us out of a mess if we were suddenly 50/4 after 13 overs
Might be all he gets. I hope not.Steady up brah, he's only been around 5 mins.
Granted, I saw that, it was a freakish innings, but the fact remains his career SR of 77 is the lowest of all the other batting candidates. It's not to say on his day he can't play a blinder.Kane Williamson who has a 69 ball hundred?
