You of a fan of Carroll, Scaly? Seem to remember you rating Downing too actually but I could be mistaken

Carroll is rubbish. But his direness is perpetuated by the fact that Stewart Downing is rubbish and can't cross. As everyone might have guessed, I do not rate Carroll at all. But if you have a player like him (i.e. one that is lumbering, big, strong and not very skillful) you may as well play to his strengths and actually cross it to him.

So happy right now!

Not looking forward to losing against Wolves though. Stupid Premier League. Waste of time, etc.

With Downing it was more that he was a far better than Joe Cole on the left side of midfield, he's a reasonable enough player.

Haven't really seen much of Carroll lately, for a while he was clearly not match fit, he was a good yard or so slower than he normally was. When he played for England he was a good player. Against Manure in the second half (which was all I saw) he still looked a good player, he just hardly ever got the ball because the crossing and midfield were ****house. Liverpool seem to ping it quickly and aimlessly in defence/midfield for about 5 passes then someone hoofs it. There's Gerrard, a hollywood ball merchant. Adam, a hollywood ball merchant. Carragher who's a hoof merchant. And those are just the ones I know about, I'm sure Liverpool fans could add more names to that list.

Well that was an entertaining half. Not.
That was 90 minutes of football without a single clear-cut non-offside chance. No one ever looked like scoring, even when they actually scored - I am still trying to work out exactly how a cross from that kind of angle beats a keeper at his near post... unless he's totally clanged it into his own net.

Today has not been a good day of sport.

Liverpool seriously looking to offload?

TBH, I say we'll take him. We've got wingers who can cross, an English striker who probably do alright from his knock downs, and our plan B whenever we're half struggling in a match is to bypass midfield and launch it a foot over our strikers heads.

Swapsies for Owen?

It's just so crazy. Not even sure what my thoughts are.

EDIT: At least we can all agree that Andy Carroll was a fantastic purchase and Liverpool can look forward to a very sizable return.

But Giggs and Carrick must have been tired too and going 4-4-2 exposed them really badly. De Gea the more obvious mistake though, obvz. You just can't get away with having a keeper that ****.

On a side note, it's funny that cup games seem to be so much more attacking than league games when a draw is bad for both teams in the league (because it's only 1/3 of a win) and pretty neutral in the cup.
TBF the first goal was really the defenders for not jumping and allowing Agger a free header. The second was 90% Evra day dreaming and allowing Kuyt a free run on goal.
