The amazing thing was that it was apparently necessary to tell these blokes it's a good idea to pitch it up and try to hit the top of off...you could possibly understand it if they had alternative plans which required bowling short and mixing that up with periods of absolute rubbish.Yeah, who'd have thought a bloke with 300 Test wickets would know more about knocking over Test batters than a bloke who couldn't even command a regular spot with Tassie?
I was reading Adam Gilchrist's biography and he said Glenn McGrath's input at their team meetings about where to bowl to certain guys was always 'top of off'. It really is that simple. Especially if you have the tools to get you to Test level in the first place. Whatever McDermott has done though, I like the change.
