Which dropped catches, I've had to follow on cricinfo today and the only one that I thought had cost us was the Misbah one being dropped on 30, the other dropped catch Hafeez was out the very next ball, or am I missing any others.
Adnan Akmal was dropped on 0, the 4th ball he'd faced. It didn't cost much in terms of runs but it ate up some overs with the new ball, if Strauss hadn't been fulfilling his usual specialist captain role then Pakistan may well have been bowled out in the day instead of losing 7 wickets. It would have been two wickets in two overs, instead of lost momentum.

If Aamer- Asif had not spot fix then we would had an attack of Aamer-Asif & Ajmal and England may well have been shot out for under 100 in both innigs

Ah yes, I've spotted it, yes second delivery with the new ball as well. Like you say, with that wicket we could have had a good chance of wrapping this innings up.

the end result is the Adnan drop did not cost much rest of the stuff is hypothetical and is not relevant
I get where your coming form but when your down to the tail with a new ball and the drop wasted 5 overs, it is a point.

I didn't really get to watch the day's play, so I'm not sure if we're in trouble or not. From what I'm reading on the interwebz, 300 should be a par score on this pitch. That surprises me as before the match I would've said anything below 450 is sub-par.

Misbah, as usual, is the key to us getting to safety. I have fallen more and more in love with Misbah. I'm about ready to proclaim him the 2nd best Captain Pakistan has ever had. What a remarkable turnaround he's achieved both for himself as a player and Pakistan as a team!

Cliche alert but first session is massive. I want, nay demand, those three wickets in the first half hour.

He is. Must have hit a rock.

So over rated he could be Moises Henriques.

Or the England football team.
Does anyone actually rate our footy team just now? Jingoism's at an all time low in the Tabs. Even beating the world and European champions barely lifted the gloom.

Just about to watch the highlights. I'd say we shaded the day after being invited to bowl, but we'll need to finish the job and bat properly to make the advantage count.

Having spent my first 8 years on CW not once seeing the word 'nay', now it turns up twice in the space of a few days. Clearly that bloke who doesn't rate Bell is having more of an influence than we first thought.

Beyond that, yes we really need to take those last 3 wickets double quick.

btw, do we know when was the last time England sent down more than 90 overs in a day apart from when overs were being added for lost time earlier in a test?

Frankie Howerd's account still to be activated then, obvz.

Not altogether sure what Hafeez was trying to do for his dismissal. Monty bowled v well in the first session.
