btw, it ****s me off when sections of the media claims Wells is unknown. Maybe to you lot, but to radio commentators and listeners he's known.

Even if we go by the logic of "but no one cares about domestic cricket so he's unknown" then that means everyone in domestic cricket is unknown, making the term a tad redundant.

I posted a scathing comment on that CI article that I highly doubt they'll bother publishing. Well I suppose they might if KVW actually does end up opening without the gloves, to make me look stupid, but yeah.

"Oh look at me, I listened to RadioSport when Wells was batting once."

We get it.

I'm not saying it because it's Wells, ****.:p

He's been around about three years and played 21 FC matches. Boult has 22, Brownlie 19 and Bracewell 21. If you don't know who Wells is and you're a sports journalist, it's your own fault. I'd say the same if it was anyone else.

Probably written by the same person who gave us Reece Jones.

I swear though, you listened to the radio for 45 minutes once while Wells was batting and we've never heard the end of it. You've made the same post about how he uses his feet well and adapts to the situation according to the commentators a thousand times and you managed to slip in "radio listeners and commentators" into your rant about people calling him unknown.

He shouldn't be unknown to keen followers of New Zealand cricket but it has nothing to do with whether they listen to the radio or not; he's easy enough to spot on scorecards without that. In fact I've never heard him mentioned on RadioSport and I knew about him before you did; when I picked him in that NZ domestic draft you had NFI who he was and started asking Howsie a heap of questions, which is what I believe prompted you to listen in when he was batting in the first place! So perhaps I should blame myself for this.

Anyway, point is, fair cop to say he isn't/shouldn't be unknown, but give the RadioSport thing a rest already, eh?

"Dear Cricinfo,
You are clearly uninformed. In CPL Van Wyk has a higher standardised average than Watling but did not make it as an opener when I simmed that. Also I am angry because you did not publish the limerick I sent you.
Regards,
PEWS"

Scathing :p

Go find them.:p

(I know you're actually pedantic enough to do it as well:ph34r:)

I listened to as many games as I could before they took it off the radio this season, so it's probably more than forty minutes, but I don't see the problem with pointing out people who follow domestic cricket will know of him, and the radio used to be the best way to follow for those who can't afford to fly all over the country to watch in person, so I happened to include it in the rant.

Since when did who knew about him first start mattering? Most of the reason I follow him is because he seems like a gun bloke.

You're making a fuss over nothing, or taking me far too seriously. Probably both.

Do you listen to our RadioSport PEWs?
Certainly not as religiously as Phlegm, so I don't belong to the Secret Society of Radio Listeners who know all and see all of New Zealand domestic cricket through the eyes and descriptions of someone we'd probably all strongly disagree with every time he opened his mouth if he was a TV commentator. I have though, on occasion; they have (or had?) an online stream I could pick up in Australia.

Now you're hating on the likes of Ron Snowden? WAC.

James Franklin has also been a guest commentator, so in your face Cribb.

Haha, it's not the sort of rant I'd bother having at someone I didn't like. Phlegm and I will always be all good. :p
