Raonic is a beast. Best bit about hiim though isn't even his serve or game, its his temperament. He is clutch as ****!

Yeah horrible volley. He was good in that 4th set when down match point though, made it difficult for Hewitt. But he got over the line.

Hewitt has had a good tournament but Novak is going to **** him up bad.

Yeah, no doubt he turned it up when Hewitt was serving for the match, but that "volley" was woeful. Shame he couldn't get up tbh.

Man, I can't beleive I stopped watching that match when Hewitt had all but lost the first three sets.

Guess they don't teach mental toughness at the Chinese tennis federation. Unbelievable choke. That's abhorrent.

Well, that was a schooling. Good week for Tomic though. Federer all over him like a cheap suit.

31 Grand Slam quarters in a row for Federer. Quite a record.

Hate watching Tomic just give up. I get that 2 and a half sets down against Fed in form is basically over but he barely moved for a ball those last few games.

Lesser men would be upset about nearly their entire post match chat being about their opponent who's ranked like 40 positions below you. Fed was very gracious. Love the bloke.

Can't do much when Fed is playing so well. Would put him and Djokovic as the favourites to take this out, with not much between them at all. Still a bit disappointed Tomic couldn't take at least a set though. He played overly cautious for too much of the match, and once he actually started hitting the ball it was already over. I really, really hope Tomic has learnt something from this match though... he has to use his power game more often, because the slow, calculated method he used in this tournament will probably take him to the top 10-20 and no more. To be in the top 5, you need to have an extremely good defensive game or an extremely good attacking game (or both). There is almost no chance of the former with Tomic (he just doesn't have the natural attributes), but there is no reason why he can't attain the latter. Some of his flat groundstrokes were pretty brutal when he puts the effort it, and I think he should follow the game plan of someone like Del Potro as inspiration.

Anyone else see the incident between Berdych and Almagro? Berdych refused to shake hands at the end of the game, didn't go down too well with the crowd; his post-match interview was completely drowned out.

Almagro hit a shot at him at the net, drilled it really hard. Berdych got it back, but it hit his racquet, not the other way about. Almagro won the point and held his racquet up. Berdych brushed him, the at the end of the match didn't shake hands.

Seen people get hit like that 100 times. Not sure why Berdych got quite so riled up.

I'd do the same with Wozniacki but she's playing an injured player so has half a chance I suppose.

Oh and Federer to find a way to lose against Del Potro

yeah that was pretty childish...but i don't think it hit his racquet, on the replay it looked like it banged into his right upper arm and went back over the net...and it didn't look like almagro did it deliberately...he just gave it an almighty whack and berdych was in the way...

It hit his arm but it was not like he had an open smash and the whole court yet hit it into him. It was a legitimate shot to win the point. If you're going to stand at the net and block off half the court you cop that.

Berdych continuing to whinge in every post-match interview not great either.

I'm not sure, judging by his comments after the match, that he gave up. It seemed he was almost in a state if disbelief. He said something about not being able to work out that he'd hit these good, hard shots and they'd come back harder as winners.

I guess he hasn't watched tv for a decade then.

Fed's had a pretty cruisy run this tournament so far. He should be fresh, and he'll need to be given what's ahead of him. I know players say they like a hard match week one to get into a tourney, but in not sure he needs it as he gets older.

Really starting to warm to Tomic's pressers.

I reckon he was just honest, and to be fair to him, he explained how now he understands why he sees very good players on TV (for some reason he named Davydenko lol) get smashed 2,2 and 1 by Fed.
