Changes To Indian Team in Next Series Onwards

I don't have much hopes for the future after reading this piece.Everybody just making excuses and the attitude of N.Srinivasan is totally sickening.
India's debacle in Australia: Kris Srikkanth defends India selectors | Cricket News | Australia v India | ESPN Cricinfo
"Next New Zealand is coming to India and it will be followed by England and Australia. We will beat these three teams on our own soil. They cannot beat us here and we will feel very happy."

Would be hilarious if India did get beaten at home

Whatever it takes!!!
Seinivasan is like that hypothetical Sachin fanboy who everyone hates
That hypothetical Sachin fanboy is not that hypothetical. After the Perth embarrasment, one of my friends put a status on facebook lamenting how bad we have been on this tour... Guess the first comment.. "God did his job. Averaged 50+. Thank God, it is the rest that have been bad." Hmmmm, are we thanking God now that Sachin did well even though we lost? It is just so so silly to see such posts from people you think, would know better.

They might win all 3 series but they won't be in the same comprehensive manner as their defeats in England and Aus have been. 1 wicket may be underprepared but that won't be until Sehwag and co. have had the chance to get the batting average back up again or they found themselves 1 zip down and need a result wicket. India isn't a tough place to tour anymore, you might not win a series there but you can rest assure your top order will get runs and they will be at least 1 dead wicket for the draw.

You are definitely correct, but is it not as tough a place to tour because there are less spin friendly wickets or because there is less of a spin bowling threat now?

the social aspects of touring India have improved plus I think its easier to make adjustments for slower tracks of SC then the quick tracks of Aus/sa.

Tendulkar batted quite beautifully in the first two tests, but got good balls or uncharasteristically threw it away to loose shots after getting a decent score. It's not just the average, he's looked the most comfortable of the Indian batsmen by far.
Laxman's probably got to go now, hope he gets a grand farewell at Adelaide. dravid probably deserves some more time, he's had an amazing year.

The problem is that we have people like Srinivasan, a profit-oriented baniya for all intents and purposes, and a brainless hack like Sreekanth heading key positions. Ppl like Srinivasan and Rajiv Shukla don't have an athletic bone in their body and by the looks of it are not exactly close bedfellows with integrity and introspection either.

There is no point sticking with the oldies. Talk of smooth transitions is alright if the team is doing moderately well and there is a general good vibe going around. There can't possibly be a healthy atmosphere between youngsters scrapping tooth and nail for a spot, and a bunch of 38 year olds performing below par. It is basic human nature and for all their platitudes of how fortunate they are to be sharing dressing rooms with legends, disgruntlement is bound to find its way in.

This situation calls for a complete purge. Obviously, I don't think we have anything like the spine needed to do it. I'm hoping that Dravid's class shows through, and he calls quits once this tour is through. Same with Laxman. Sehwag and Dhoni are just not good enough to perform away from home. Gambhir needs to be put on notice also but at least he shows the odd spark of fight once in while.

Gambhir
Rahane
Pujara
Tendulkar
Kohli
Sharma
Dhoni (doesn't deserve to be in but he's too big a brand for the BCCI)
Ashwin
Aaron
Yadav
Ishant/Ojha

Once Sachin goes, I'd move either Kohli or Sharma up, and have Murali Vijay come down in the lower order where his technical glitches can be covered up a bit.

And everyone's been there before; teams tour there so often, even state sides take teams over there during pre-season.

I'd ideally want this XI if we are playing a new away series from tommorrow (if all are fit):

Gambhir
Sehwag
Dravid
Tedndulkar* (though I think he won't be interested in this role)
Laxman
R. Sharma
Saha+
Ashwin
P. Kumar / I. Sharma (depending on conditions)
Khan
Yadav

and pray tell what exactly will this side achieve from a long term or short term perspective?

Another thing that pisses me off no end is how Sachin gets to cherry pick the ODIs he wants to play. Who the **** is he, really? Great bat and all, but this prima donna BS has gone on for far too long.

The only reason he still plays ODI's even after the world cup win is to keep the sponsors happy.
