For India's future..1-3 is much better than 0-4.

I would rather drop Gambhir and get Dravid and Sehwag to open with Saha as the keeper.
Or just drop Laxman if you are so concerned about the future. But you cannot compromise on a specialist position in a test match.
If it's 1-3 because Laxman and Dravid have a 300 run stand it's not doing much for the future is it (as awesome as it would be to see it)

I think we've established by now I have no problems being cold hearted to legends who ain't performing, so i have no problem axing laxman, but I'm realistic enough to know that probably isn't happening unless Laxman does it himself, and neither is G.G being dumped (given he's now VC). So that seems to be the only way to get new blood in the batting order. Once again, not sure if I'd do it, but I'd understand it happening and from a "oh boy I can't wait to see if this is a disaster or not" I'd be on the edge of my seat.

Naman Ojha should be the next in line imo. Younger and a much more aggressive bat with proper technique.
maybe, I have no idea - just saying. If there is no point playing saha, bring the next one over. plenty of time to acclimatise.

"fmd, can't we we have a good beer sponsor us? Now, how am I going to get rid of the contents....."
Well, in that case he can't blame the captain for not setting a good example. Brad Haddin is sitting right below him after all.

edit: holy ****, beaten by shri. **** really does have a time machine

I thought there were posts along the lines of he's useless, not the next in line, was wondering why he was even touring in that case.
Think "useless" is harsh. "Done nothing of note" more accurate, I'd say - although the Indian posters might correct me.

Yeah a lot of the fans think that but if the selectors agreed then he wouldn't have come on tour in the first place. Nothing has happened between the announcement of the touring party and now to make the selectors change their minds.

fair enough, saha in then. I don't know anything about the backups.

watching yesterday's play after it finished, kohli looked quite solid. nice drive, nice pull.

Just got in and saw the news about Dhoni. Suppose change is good whichever way it comes, thrust upon the Indians or otherwise.

Nice to see we have begun the process of refilling the trophy cabinet after the temporary loss of the Ashes and the World Cup. Should have both back where they belong next time they're played.

Still think we could have win the WC had the selectors not spectacularly **** the bed eg ruling out doherty and hussey who both fit by the time it started, picking frickin tait and krejza, refusing to drop white
