its not the words that worked - he well and truly worked chandimal over

all fired up and pitching it in his half and chandimal completely forgot about the one that's pitched up and moves away

steyn's bowled well

Got himself into a personal contest outside the general match and the words were all part of that

Anyone else think this match is not totally over?

I wouldn't rule SA completely out of this. Yeah, gonna be ****ing hard, but theyve got the blokes capable of playing long innings.

Hmm, reckon South Africa are still in with a shout tbh. Pitch is dead and the opposing attack is poor. If the pitch looked like this on day one we'd say 450 was a par score.

Yeah totally agree, got a real chance if they knock these guys over quickly

very slow outfield...i reckon sri lanka's got enough but you cannot be sure with their bowling

yeah Lankan attack is quite poor if Sa don't give wickets to the new ball I think they will run close.

Yup. If you look at the teams that have lost to 400+ chases, Sri Lanka has a worse bowling attack than any of them by quite a big margin. SA have a great top 5 and are playing at home on a fairly good pitch. I guess the issue is whether the pitch will deteroriate over the next two days.

SA chased 335 in Duban almost a decade ago against a far better Australian attack. Three players who made a contribution are still playing: Smith, Kallis and Prince; and Kirsten also scored a 50. They will have a bigger target of course but also much weaker opposition.

Given the weather conditions I wouldn't rule out a draw either especially if the SL tailenders manage to hang in there for a while tomorrow morning.

Looking good to end SL's 15 test winless streak. If you've got a team out of form, make them play us in a home series. Welldone to SL for sustained pressure and killer instincts. We showed up expecting a win to be handed in a platter, got what we deserved tbh.

From what I've seen of the match so far, I've been impressed with his keeping ability. Not surprised about his batting, he's always been a good talent, but his keeping looked much better than I expected it to be. Haven't watched the whole game to be sure of it though.

would prefer he goes Sanga's way keeps for odi's only will get more value from him as a test batsman rather then keeper-batsman.

I posted this after I saw him in June.

Chandimal is the business. He's the ****. He's the dog's bollocks, the bees' knees and the real frigging deal.
That hasn't changed, and so even though I didn't see his performance in this match I'm going to go ahead and assume he looked like a right-handed Brian Lara.

What did people think of his keeping?

People are always on at keepers to improve their batting, and be picked as all-rounders... yet when you find someone who looks like he *might* be the real deal as a keeper-batsman, there are immediately calls for him to become a specialist bat.

I don't get it - a good keeper/bat is one of the best players you can have in a Test side for the balance that he adds to the order at 7 - why give it up?
