Praveen should have been playing test cricket for at-least two years ahead of **** bowlers like Sreesanth and Ishant. He has done extremely well in the chance given to him, finally. Have no doubt Vinay, who is in the same league, will perform decently in test cricket if persisted with.

tbf he has excellent FC stats and hasnt even played a match yet. The only thing he lacks is pace, but if he can get swing with excellent control, he could be a handy test match bowler

When he inevitably is put on the plane to Australia, it will be because Zaheer/Ishant/both hobbled off after the first session of the first Test. This costs us the first Test. He will then arrive in time for the second or third, at which time he will be jet-lagged, perform poorly and not be selected again for a while.

Vinay is not in the same league as Praveen. Praveen swings the ball around corners. Vinay is a steady bowler. It is likely that he'll lack penetration as a long term Test option. I would have given him a go, but I do not think he is a guaranteed success.
