Reasonably happy with that team.
A varied and able bowling attack with something like 15,000 FC wickets between them. Donald and Lockwood providing the pace, Tate one of the finest and biggest-hearted medium pacers ever to draw breath, Laker and Rhodes a world-class spin duo, and Worrell providing yet more variety with both left arm pace and spin. Oh and WG Grace bowling round-armers which might prove a suprise weapon against some of the other teams - it was good enough to take him the best part of 3,000 FC wickets so it must have been pretty handy even against batsmen who were used to facing it.
I was very tempted to go for Ponting to bulk up the batting but I wanted a modern quick to round off the attack, and went for Allan Donald, and frankly there's a lot of batting talent there as it is: Grace the best player in the world in his day to a degree that puts Bradman into the shade; Jackson and Gower coupling flair and skill at the top of the order; Javed scoring ugly but important runs at number 4. Then the greatest of the 3 Ws, Sir Frank Worrell, who also skippers the team. Prior a reasonably competent keeper and a fine destructive batsman. Then three all rounders who share 96 FC centuries between them: Rhodes (58), Tate (23) and Lockwood (15).

I have a suggestion to make, no way influenced by my senior moment in round 8, that being that we have a 13th round in which we can discard one player from the 12 we have and select a replacement from any era

I'd like that to improve my team too, but I don't think we should. Firstly I think we should reward people for drafting well enough during the original 12 rounds to get a top side together, and it would be a bit of a double-cross to change the number of rounds now. There's also that an odd number of rounds means the order for the final round can't be reversed, so people at the top of the order for the 13th round would gain a small advantage.

This will be the team to beat I think. No weak links, in the sense that there's not a player there that wasn't pretty much the best in the world at what he did. And balanced too. Just awesome.
