They should, going for the win in all the matches.

Its not like most of the bowlers lack any number of overs bowled in the recent weeks.
It was impossible to win this match at the start of today as well as give the batsmen batting practice.

To win they'd have to hit out to score quickly. Why the **** would they do that? That is not test preparation.

For guys that watch domestic cricket - I can't stream cricket on this piece of **** of internet - what's the verdict on Christian. He seems to be getting a fairly large negative response on this forum despite an impressive season
Reckon he's got some serious ability with the bat - pretty similar sort of player to Symonds in temperament and appearance.

His bowling is a bit above useful but not outstanding.

he values his milestones. that's one of the reasons he has so many of them. and also one of the reasons he does something daft as he nears them.
Being pretty good and playing for 22 years probably has a bit to do with it as well.

I'd agree he values milestones more than Viru. But don't you find it funny that Viru obviously values them less, yet that results in him getting so many great scores (he hit a 6 to get to 300 ffs)

If he's like Symonds it's a shame Harbi isn't touring.

It's mainly because he's only come good in the back end of last season and this season. Before that, his record was abysmal.

Despite his ability to tonk, he is still a technically proficient batsman. Only thing holding him back is his temprament imo.

He is a sensational fielder, and bizarre bowler.

EDIT: I'm happy he's in the side ftr.

why are ojha and ashwin bowling in tandem? I would rather them rotate between zak, ishant and yadav and get a couple of spells out of them.

ffs if they're that fragile, it's better to find out before the 1st test. #lordstest

well, that's that. the giant question marks over ishant and zak persist. makes it difficult to generate any pace lugging them around.

I think our best fully fit, available bowler who wasn't selected is Hogan.

I never thought I'd say that. Sad state of affairs.
Have been wondering why he hasnt been mentioned as he's tearing up the Shield and that's all it took for Cutting to be selected

With a fraction of Symonds' ability

How the **** can a guy who's career ave is 30 whilst playing home games on the world's biggest road suddenly be considered one of our 7 best batsmen?

The reasons behind his selection must have been misinterpreted

If they said, "we want an all-rounder and, with Watson injured, we were unwilling to risk far more talented but less experienced guys like Mitchell Marsh and Faulkner", I'd get it

But to have him in competition with Shaun Marsh for a batting spot is surely a joke
