Soft as butter. Amazing how much the Kiwi's rated themselves coming into this game, some of the comments were Saffer-like. Thought they'd be more competitive than this, though.

You would be happy picking a guy knowing there's a good chance he'll limp off on day 2?
He is essentially as fit as he has been when picked for previous tests though, so yeah I probably would. If it's a 3 test series though, I'd probably rest him for at least one of those matches.

I'm not sure I'd pick him at all over someone like Siddle now though, given the other options emerging. I wanna wait and see more matches with these new guys before having an opinion though.

NZ need to try something different here. Might I suggest attacking the Australian's with the bats till they can't walk anymore? That may work.

I come back from an awesome Sunday brunch with mates, and this is the score I come home to? My day is ruined. :(

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
How often do we do this? Scrape together a near respectable-decent score (the times we've gone 400+) vs Aus only to yield for a paltry total in the 2nd dig. Can we give our batsmen basic cognitive concentration Tests?

Edit: 290 being respectable to this effort.

This has been a completely predictable innings considering the match situation. Including the not-quite fightback followed by limp shot.

I don't think Vettori will score runs this time round either.

Gotta feel for Johnny Wright, was such a tough Test batsman who never gave his wicket away easily ...

Yeah, it's happened so many times. It's so predictable, but it always hurts.

It's because we've only played 5 real tests in the last 18 months. We forgot how **** we are.
