Mybrugh went to England, van Wyk is qualified but behind Young due to catching, and Wagner qualifies at the end of the season.I thought NZ had a few Saffer-born players coming through? What's happened to them? Still qualifying?
The Pace bowler Wagner is close to qualifying & we've already got our token Aussie with BrownlieI thought NZ had a few Saffer-born players coming through? What's happened to them? Still qualifying?
The problem is to get better we need to play more Test matches. But this happens and we get less Tests against good sides. We will never get better if this trend continues. It's because we've only played 5 real tests in the last 18 months. We forgot how **** we are.
Yeah this is a fair point, a 40-50 here will see Brownlie pretty secure in his spot this summer.Big opportunity for Brownlie here too. They're only about 60 behind so it wouldn't take much to get ahead. If he helps NZ set a target, even if they lose, he'll look a million bucks.
And deservedly so. After his shaky start in the first innings, he was superb. Has a desire to stay in the middle that most of the others are currently sorely lacking.Yeah this is a fair point, a 40-50 here will see Brownlie pretty secure in his spot this summer.
Especially since he was red inks in the 1st.Yeah this is a fair point, a 40-50 here will see Brownlie pretty secure in his spot this summer.
The worst part is that the Australia A attack had half of this bloody attack.Ryder and McCullum obviously chose to score all their runs for the tour against the might of Australia A.
Fleming's side between 1999-2004 were a good side. Since 2008 though it's been all downhill, I agree. Its even more amazing seeing how NZ crushed Zimbabwe so emphatically in the last test.
What does everyone expect from a team that is so low in the rankings, and has been for like 20 years? Bad bowling, dropped catches, terrible shot selection, all the hallmarks of an average cricket team. All test sides contain talent and ability, but it means nothing if the above are rife in such a team.
Were ranked 3rd not so long ago.Its even more amazing seeing how NZ crushed Zimbabwe so emphatically in the last test.

Yeah but they smashed the Test attack at AB Field which is exactly the same thing as facing them in a Test at the 'Gabba. Its even more amazing seeing how NZ crushed Zimbabwe so emphatically in the last test.

Hey now, we were a decent side from 1998-2004...at least when Cairns was fit.Its even more amazing seeing how NZ crushed Zimbabwe so emphatically in the last test.

I swear we used to be able to catch... Gah.Its even more amazing seeing how NZ crushed Zimbabwe so emphatically in the last test.
