Ya, Any side with Hadlee in full cry is a challenge for any batsman.NZ was quite good when Viv played them. The best we've ever been tbh.
Not sure why you'd ignore us.
Well if you choice to count in his average it does, he falls well short. And statistically, Sachin Tendulkar is the best Test player EVER! Nothing can change that.
They were a good side back then for certain. That serries out here in 85-86 when Hadlee took his 9-fer also saw Martin Crowe and John Reid make some big runs. They were a more than decent side.Ya, Any side with Hadlee in full cry is a challenge for any batsman.
Same can't be said about our batting side, less than abysmally woeful. They were a good side back then for certain. That serries out here in 85-86 when Hadlee took his 9-fer also saw Martin Crowe and John Reid make some big runs. They were a more than decent side.
Save ABSame can't be said about our batting side, less than abysmally woeful.

That was the summer Greg Matthews came of age too wasn't it? I remember in that 'Gabba Test where Paddles got 15 and Crowe got 188, AB and Matthews got more between them than the rest of the team put together.Save AB
A maligned and under-rated player for us in a tough era.Yeah i was gonna say, 2 test tons that summer, plus another in NZ in the return series, pity his bowling was so average because he always held his own with the bat, 4 tons and an average of 40 with the bat in test cricket was really outstanding.
The sheer amount of runs he has scored consistently over 20yrs, with the weight of a billion on his shoulders.Well if you choice to count in his average it does, he falls well short.
Reminds me of cricinfo comment section. How every article about any cricketer ends up into a discussion on TendulkarThe sheer amount of runs he has scored consistently over 20yrs, with the weight of a billion on his shoulders.
Thats a matter of perspective. You have yours, I have mine. I'm not a Sachin fan, but statistically, he is far more superior.Reminds me of cricinfo comment section. How every article about any cricketer ends up into a discussion on Tendulkar
Hugely under-rated players. Loved his work in the Tied Test.A maligned and under-rated player for us in a tough era.
No he is not.Thats a matter of perspective. You have yours, I have mine. I'm not a Sachin fan, but statistically, he is far more superior.
