One ball, Hughes plays a great cut shot. Next ball, tries to play the same shot regardless of it being a better ball and gets out. Really is repetitive.

Not watching just now but I think Hughes' problem is his definition of 'width' - it's a great strength but it's also a massive weakness. His first innings dismissal was to a ball that someone like Cook would have waved through to the keeper.

Trescothick was similar, when he was in and set he'd bang them through covers, but he also could get out nicking them quite a bit.
