I shall repent heavily if Hadlee is voted out in this round. One of the reasons I didn't vote for him was that I was pretty confident he would make it :wallbash:

I think he only said that about Wasim
Waqar was largely exonerated, actually. I quote from his Lordship's report:

Mr Justice Quyyum said:
As regards the general allegations, they are generally baseless. No evidence has been proffered to support them. The evidence against Waqar Younis is primarily hearsay (even then mostly from anonymous sources) and unsubstantiated.
Contrast with what he said about (the already qualified) Wasim:

Mr Justice Quyyum said:
once this commission looks at the allegations in their totality, this commission feels that all is not well here and that Wasim Akram is not above board. He has not co-operated with this Commission. It is only by giving Wasim Akram the benefit of the doubt after Ata-ur-Rehman changed his testimony in suspicious circumstances that he has not been found guilty of match-fixing. He cannot be said to be above suspicion.
Seems very harsh to use match-fixing as a stick to beat Waqar with when Wasim was given a pass in his match-up.

When is the Richard Chee-Quee battle up?
Not a worthy enough competitor found so far for him.

AWTA!

Hobbs and Hadlee.

Battle 42 is extremely difficult for me. Only one man could have beaten Waqar and you have him there, ITBT, I'd be disgusted at the elimination of either player so I guess it's even stakes.

* if the battle hasn't closed, that is.

justice quayyam made it clear that some senior players, including waqar, were involved in fixing matches. just that he was a fan of those accused cricketers and so he didnt want to pull the curtain on their careers; typical subcontinental justice. dont want to take the discussion away from the thread topic. i gave my reasons as to why i did not vote for waqar here, and wasim earlier; you can choose to agree with me or not. but as far as i am concerned my logic is consistent in rejecting them and choosing warne.
did he now, bagapath???? :p

I am not doing that at all!!! I chose to vote for hadlee for purely cricketing reasons. please read my earlier posts.

I do know the difference between akram and waqar's cases. that is why i used terms like "possibly" when i brought up the match fixing charges against waqar to counter the argument against hadlee that he had been making stupid statements of late. my argument was that even waqar could be similarly accused of being a dickhead because there is the cloud of match fixing hanging above his head (he did have to pay a fine as punishment after the qayyam enquiry for his murky role in the whole deal). but that was not why i didnt vote for him. whereas in the earlier poll I didnt vote for akram for the match fixing crime. and I specifically stated that there.

now purely as bowlers both hadlee and waqar were awesome. one was a superior technician and the other one was pure box office gold. as people hadlee might be termed small minded and self centered whereas waqar could be called corrupt and divisive. how do i choose between two flawed champion fast bowlers? luckily one of them was an exciting lower order bat who could light up a boring session with his lusty strokeplay. so i voted for hadlee.
