Yuvraj in Australia will probably be worse than Raina in England.Yuvraj, though I would be tempted to play Kohli.
Don't mind him playing in Australia even if he averages 30-35 there, provided he does well here. His bowling might be handy as well. Kohli's also got problems against the short ball which I imagine might be a problem against both the WI and Aus, so I'd pick the guy with more experience.
Nothing can beat Raina in EnglandYuvraj in Australia will probably be worse than Raina in England.
And another thing common with them would be that it was obvious that they would probably do well against the West Indies series before both the tours and hence stay in the team for the tour.
And he had a dolly dropped by KP on 0 in that same innings.Even Yuvraj was brought to England on the back of his WC performances though tbf he did have one good innings before the tour ended for him.
Ideally we'd have Pujara fit and firing tbh, but would prefer Kohli to get a go over a tested and till now proven failure like Yuvraj. An average of 35 isn't terrible imo, though most of his good series have been in India and he's been pretty poor away from home. If we do happen to get 2-0 up in the series before the third then it would be tempting to rest one of the big guns and play them both.
You missed Yuvraj in the last tour to Australia, i am guessing?Nothing can beat Raina in England
well.... Raina is a different player to Kohli . Kohli has better technique and also a better temperament. seems unlikely that Kohli will struggle as much as Raina did in England.I think Kohli deserves another go. I reserve judgement as to whether he'll be able to nail down the sixth batting slot, but Yuvraj has had more than a fair crack of the whip.
I wouldn't make too much of Kohli's one day form tho; Raina also looked in good touch and look at what happened to him up here in the summer.
Can't see it happening tbh. They seem to have selected him as a backup opener, if anything.Neither. Ajinkya Rahane.
They're stupid. This could have been a perfect launching ground for Rahane. An average of 60 in this series could give him all the confidence he requires to average 40 in the next series in Australia. Can't see it happening tbh. They seem to have selected him as a backup opener, if anything.
