*Official* West Indies in India

Who is a better option for India at No. 6 for the WI series?

I think Kohli deserves another go. I reserve judgement as to whether he'll be able to nail down the sixth batting slot, but Yuvraj has had more than a fair crack of the whip.

I wouldn't make too much of Kohli's one day form tho; Raina also looked in good touch and look at what happened to him up here in the summer.

Yuvraj, though I would be tempted to play Kohli.

Don't mind him playing in Australia even if he averages 30-35 there, provided he does well here. His bowling might be handy as well. Kohli's also got problems against the short ball which I imagine might be a problem against both the WI and Aus, so I'd pick the guy with more experience.
Yuvraj in Australia will probably be worse than Raina in England.

And another thing common with them would be that it was obvious that they would probably do well against the West Indies, before both the tours and hence stay in the team for the tour.

Even Yuvraj was brought to England on the back of his WC performances though tbf he did have one good innings before the tour ended for him.

An average of 35 isn't terrible imo, though most of his good series have been in India and he's been pretty poor away from home. If we do happen to get 2-0 up in the series before the third then it would be tempting to rest one of the big guns and play them both.

Nothing can beat Raina in England :p

Kohli. Yuvraj has proved he isn't good enough. May as well pick a new guy with potential than an older bum with a poor record.

And he had a dolly dropped by KP on 0 in that same innings.

Ideally we'd have Pujara fit and firing tbh, but would prefer Kohli to get a go over a tested and till now proven failure like Yuvraj.

well.... Raina is a different player to Kohli . Kohli has better technique and also a better temperament. seems unlikely that Kohli will struggle as much as Raina did in England.

Coming to Yuvi ..... The thing with him is - despite him never really lighting up the test arena... he always seems weighed down by expectations.... even a decent 40 or so and it's like - 'there you go, he can never cut it in tests'.

Kohli maybe somewhat free from such pressures.

Kohli will need to sort out his problem with the short ball if he's to be a real test batsman. Has a wonderful eye and is a great player of spin, but one could equally say that of Yuvraj too.

Kohli looked all at sea in the Windies and the caribbean tracks aren't renowned for being too quick or bouncy nowadays.

Can't see it happening tbh. They seem to have selected him as a backup opener, if anything.
They're stupid. This could have been a perfect launching ground for Rahane. An average of 60 in this series could give him all the confidence he requires to average 40 in the next series in Australia.

Still say Yuvraj. It's probably misguided faith but whatever.

Pecking order should probably be Pujara, Rahane, Yuvraj/Kohli.

Kohli has done nothing to warrant jumping ahead of Yuvraj in the Test pecking order.

Yuvraj averages 40 under Dhoni - not an outstanding return, but he's by no means been a failure with the bat since Ganguly retired.
