BARNES OUT
I didn't even cry. We just lost the plot in the last few minutes. Result massively flattering. Still months to go. Marathon not a sprint.
Do you think I genuinely thought you'd cry? Result was flattering, I agree. But we were still the better side regardless, and it's the first time in my lifetime that we have been. We've beaten you before but generally gotten lucky (2008 for example) to do so. This means so much to City fans because for the first time in most of their lives, we were better and got what we deserved.

I don't care about the title, I don't expect success and am happy with what I have. This talk of a marathon and not a sprint is fine and I agree, I also said nothing about the title and whether I think we'll win it. In the end, from where we have come from I couldn't care less about what we win (or don't win) from here. I wish we could've drawn the Barca-Milan group as a 3-seed. I teared up watching us run out against Napoli. Supporting such a ridiculous club for so long (comparitively speaking considering the length of my life), all of this is a bonus. I don't care if we don't win the league and I don't care if we don't make it out of the group stages of the Champions League.

Lol Chelsea.

But looking at their team, some of the most punchable in the face players there look like their race is run. ****ley and Captain Falldown are both going to be 31 at the end of the season and have looked terrible recently. Dogbag and Fatty are going to be 34 at the end of the season, Cech looks like Almunia with a hat these days.

It's brilliant really, Roman is going to have to replace the spine of their team and pray Torres starts to look like a 5m quid striker sometime soon, let alone a 50m striker. These guys could drop out of the top 4 this season too.
Yep, I think that's a big part of the problem. Especially if they want to start defending halfway up the pitch. Terry's going to be exposed pretty badly in his old age.

Hope so, because I'd be backing him to come good given time. It's a hard situation to deal with because the weak links are former superstars whose games have regressed badly enough to ensure the team isn't really of a Championship-winning standard, but not so badly as to make it an easy decision to get rid of them. I'd say that applies (to differing extents) to Cole, Torres, Anelka, Malouda, Cech, Terry, Drogba and Lampard.

That Man City penalty looks pretty blatant to me, the guy from behind basically stood on Balotelli's right leg. So is it me or the commentators who are blind?

Edit: The commentators. Didn't quite stand right on his leg, but had two goes at it and managed to catch him.

Lol Keane. Nice bit of lazy stereotyping there, "The lad's Italian, he goes down pretty easily, that's what they're going to do."

Don't wanna jinx it, but struggle to see a way back for the Spanish here. Villareal look very ordinary.

Can't imagine Bryan give away too many two goal leads at home in Yurp either.

City dominating this game. Yaya so underrated. And good to see Savic given a start.

If Michael Owen was one of his beloved racehorses, he'd have been melted down for glue a long time ago

Rooney was seriously impressive in the middle of the park tonight, reckon we'll be seeing that experiment given another go at some stage.

I already swapped him out of my fantasy team in anticipation of the move becoming more permanent.

And I don't think Yaya is underrated. Overrated if anything, especially by City fans. Good player when playing well though. His driving runs are invaluable.

Always feel a midfielder who can run through the middle is a great asset. Especially someone coming from so deep. Just catches an opposition unawares. Vieira was seriously impressive at it, and Toure seems to be damn good at it to.

Still waiting for this City bubble to burst :(

The only thing stopping me from swapping Rooney for van Persie is the feeling that RvP is due an injury.
