Butt/Amir/Asif - Spot Fixing Trial

honestbharani

Whatever it takes!!!
Agree with you about Amir possibly even Butt. But I never want to see Asif on a cricket field again. How many drug bans does it take for the ICC to realize the guy is just not getting it.
They should not play international cricket again. I am not sure about jail time and the other legal stuff though.. But I wont want them playing international cricket ever again. It is time some deterrents are set.

If he was a **** middle order batsman, I think you'd feel differently :)
Burgey do you still think he will still be able to maintain his skills. You are a lawyer you must know better then me how these cases effect the people involved mentally and then not playing any level of cricket for 5 years will bound to effect his development as a cricketer he was at a age when people are still developing their game it will be a miracle if he plays another FC game let alone a test match.

I dunnow. Amir is still young. If he really wants to make a comeback after 5 years; he can. Afterall, he's not banned from bowling to batsmen in the nets. Working on his fitness. Attending practice sessions with different teams even if not playing a match for those 5 years.

Another interesting point is both Aamer and Butt were marked as child prodigies for a long time is it possible these bookie mafias target the young ones and try to get in their heads and groom them even before they start their careers

Was Kamran Dropmal also a child prodigy? It seems he might have been the most corrupt of them all, only far too shrewd/fortunate to leave any tracks and get caught.

Kamran Akmal has made himself the perfect alibi: he's so unbelievably terrible he can't possibly be match fixing.

Good work Kamran!

I'm getting the feeling Amir will get off quite lightly. It seems his statement was perfectly tailored to the situation instead of throwing around accusations against others, and that the judge is impressed by that.

In particular, this comment by the judge “[One] inference is that this was such a widespread practice that a newcomer would be infected by the atmosphere and accept that this was the norm.” seems to suggest the judge is looking to find ways to be lenient.

I'm no lawyer, but I'd guess Amir will receive only a suspended sentence, whereas the others may face actual time.

Kamran 2004-2006 was looking like an immense cricketer rarely dropped catches and scored runs in crazy situations then one fine day he just decided to be rubbish for the rest of his career.

I still think the real fixers are out there and they may get away..players like kamran akmal, shaoib malik and wahab raiz has got to be involved considering that how close they have been over the years with mazher majeed..

overall, I feel like justice has been served.. I would like to see them rot in jail.. life bans on them considering that it is proven they have been involved... they dont' deserve to play cricket again..

I would love to see icc investigating guys like kamran akmal, shoaib malik and Raiz too..
