Some news channels are stating that Kamran and Wahab will be investigated as well. This will be great news for their fans :P. Can't seem to find that thread with "Khatmal" in the name.
Yeah, all charges will be dropped.Kamran will survive somehow. He always does.
Didn't Mazhar Majeed name 7 other players including Farhat too?Which body is investigating Kamran and Wahab?
Kamran was named by Mazhar Majeed and Wahab was caught with a Jacket. How is this an indication/proof of criminal behaviour and how will this investigative body prove the offence?
Imran Farhat to sue Mazhar Majeed | Sport | DAWN.COMAccording to Mazhar, the other six cricketers allegedly working for him are: Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamir (already suspended provisionally by the International Cricket Council), Wahab Riaz and brothers Kamran and Umar Akmal.
Get your government to clean up its act with regards stamping out illegal gambling. There is unfortunately a selective black-and-white approach to crime. My point is, don't spare anyone. When you pick up the broom-stick clean all the dirt or kachra, as we in India call it.
Now the incidents of the past will constantly come up for comparisons. It is upto the sports administrators to ensure that justice is delivered for all future verdicts the way it admirably has been here.
Aha, the plot thickens. Send all these other people to jail too!!Dheeraj Dixit who was Mohamad Asif's friend and whom Veena Malik(Mohammad Asif's girlfriend who was allegedly a ex - girlfriend of Mazhar Majeed) accused of being involved in this, accusing Imran Farhat and his relatives of being the link between London based bookies and the Pakistani team on Star News right now.

You haven't answered my question. Which body?Didn't Mazhar Majeed name 7 other players including Farhat too?

And then he apparently accused some Australian players, and some others in court too.

Perhaps they have some sort of slight evidence against these 2 on which basis they feel it is worth investigating further compared to others.
Why? They broke a British law and faced trial in a British court. If Amir, Asif and Butt are sentenced to jail, they should serve it in Pakistan and not the UK.
Initially yes, doesn't mean they can't rearrest them (and I'd be stunned if they didn't)You haven't answered my question. Which body?
Who is going to take Mazhar Majeed's words as the truth. Anyway the police let Kamran and Wahab go.
Not really. Investigative units are always going to have fairly strict policies to follow when they're looking into something to make sure it's done the right way. Journalists have a lot less of these. And also interesting that the ICC's ACSU was able to do nothing while NOTW's fake sheikh was.
I doubt they will come to England and Co-operate after this though like Boje and Gibbs didn't come to India for a while, to avoid the Police investigations until things calmed down.Initially yes, doesn't mean they can't rearrest them (and I'd be stunned if they didn't)
Not really. You can't nail them for fixing unless you have a smoking gun, you know actual evidence. In Hansie Cronje's the police stumbled upon a phone-call, here they set up a deal. The ICC can't phone tap non set up sting operations. And they've tried to do the second but the players association won't allow that. So the ICC are in a pretty ****ty situation. Pressing the governments to allow legalize gambling on cricket is probably their best move, but even then....Tip off which triggered scandal came from Pakistan camp | The Cricketer
Wonder who it was? Good job nevertheless.
And also interesting that the ICC's ACSU was able to do nothing while NOTW's fake sheikh was.
Already had this debate before in this thread IIRC and to think that will solve everything is too simplistic a way of thinking and naive. So the ICC are in a pretty ****ty situation. Pressing the governments to allow legalize gambling on cricket is probably their best move, but even then....
On the basis that Mazhar Majeed labelled Wahab or the fact that Wahab was wearing a jacket!Initially yes, doesn't mean they can't rearrest them (and I'd be stunned if they didn't)
