Cricketer Of The Year
Pleased to get Croft. Bowling depth was still on the short side so he was just who I was looking for. :)

Never said it was the best and I dont expect to win, but considering my penalty in rd. 2 and that its my first draft, I am quite pleased with my effort. But thanks for the thumbs up.

Blakus

State Vice-Captain
That's my team done. Lucky that so many people didn't submit otherwise I don't think I would have got exactly who I wanted this round.

1.Jack Hobbs 5410 runs @ 56.94
2.Sunil Gavaskar 10122 runs @ 51.12
3.Stewie Dempster 723 runs @ 65.72
4.Everton Weekes 4455 runs @ 58.61
5.Kenny Barrington 6806 runs @ 58.67 , 29 wickets @ 44.82
6.Ted Dexter 4502 runs @ 47.89 , 66 wickets @ 34.93
7.Denis Lindsay 1130 runs @ 37.66 , 59 dismissals
8.Michael Holding 910 runs @ 13.78 , 249 wickets @ 23.68
9.Dennis Lillee 905 runs @ 13.71 , 355 wickets @ 23.92
10.Shoaib Akhtar 544 runs @ 10.07 , 178 wickets @ 25.69
11.Subhash Gupte 183 runs @ 6.31 , 149 wickets @ 29.55

Reserves: Pommie Mbangwa, Mahmudullah

That's a pretty handy team if I do say so myself.

This is getting a bit silly now with all the non-submissions, I've just got a top quality bowler for virtually nothing. According to cricinfo Hobbs said that Maurice Tate was one of the greatest bowlers of all time, and yet I have paid less than 1% of the money I paid for Shaun Pollock for him! Tate can clearly strengthen the batting, too.

Anyway... I reckon I have a fantastic bowling line-up now. What do people reckon... is Tate better than Fazal Mahmood? Which would you start with?

You should have tried a batsman. Your bowling attack was already awesome, even without Tate. But some of the batsmen in your side is not quite that great. Don't get me wrong, you have a good side. But if I was at your place, I would have tried to make my batting look better with whatever money is left - rather than spending a penny on a bowler.

I'm going for "bowlers win matches" as the biggest philosophy in constructing my team... and I think on the bench you need at least one decent quick bowler, as the bowlers are most likely to get injored. Tbh I think the only batsman I'm not 100% happy with is Trott, and I think he isn't too bad. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to get someone to replace him in the next two rounds.

Pretty happy to get Len hutton :)

The team will be built around 3 core ATGest bowlers going by the bowlers win matches theory as stated earlier by 4o6
