*Official* England in India

Still in with a chance here, I suppose. Indian fielding giving us a nice lifeline.

250 would probably be defendable, but Whatever we get from here, it's not going to be defendable if we don't bowl vastly better than last time.

Yeesh, Swann goes now trying to, I dunno, run it down to third man I guess.

Net result is a flattened off stump, in any event.

We're not gonna bat our overs here.

Clicked on cricinfo, saw that the 6th delivery was a wide, just knew there was going to be a wicket with the extra ball.

Yadav is looking good, but he is more of a test bowler, he does bowl a wicket taking delivery with good pace every now and then, but also tends to bowl a few loose deliveries. Varun Aroon bowls with much control. He should have been picked ahead of Yadav for ODIs.

From where did you get that impression? Aaron is quite up-and-down (from what I've seen) and does not move it in the air either. Pace and some inseam being his only two assets.

Today's work may not indicate that, but Yadav has more method to his bowling than Aaron.

That's fair. Generous towards England if anything; looks a good deck to me.
I wouldn't be so sure. There's some bounce in the deck and men like Bresnan and Finn could pose quite some problems if they get it right.

Granted that it's an inadequate total and the outfield is very fast, but a few quick wickets with the new ball and subsequent pressure can do strange things to a chasing team's psyche.

Just watching the old ODI here - us vs England from the 99 Ashes.

And I can't help but laugh at Richard saying Nick Knight and Neil
Fairbrother we're better ODI players than Adam Gilchrist.

They were.

Once a year. Every other day belonged to Gilly though.

Finn's hitting the keeper's gloves as hard as anything I've seen in a while. The length is still a touch too short for my liking though. It's no good if the batsmen can allow the ball to fly past them harmlessly at 92 mph and with each delivery sent down, the new ball loses its shine and hardness.

England cannot contain India on this deck against this total. Their only option is to pick up 10 wickets!

Think we all agree with that, need early wickets though as otherwise Dhoni will come in later and take game away comfortably. Need him in with a bit of pressure on.

Pure madness that shot when you have already had a good over. Can put it down to inexperience I guess but he needs to learn from that and learn quickly.
