*Official* England in India

Powerplay 3: Overs 35.1 - 40.0 (Batting side - 59 runs, 1 wicket)

That was key !!! It provided impetus to the innings..

India got Batting PP right..

It's why I was never a fan of teams waiting until the 45th over to take it, if used properly the batting PP should kickstart the death overs slogfest.

45th is a bit over the top. Generally early 40s though, simply because if you are going well, and call it and lose a few, you give the opposition a look-in if it's before the 40th over.

I.e. you are three wickets down, look to accelerate and after the first two overs, you end up being 5 for, and you have to spend a while consolidating before going again.

Whereas if you get to the 41st or 42nd with four wickets down, then once you lose one you can still go at pretty close to the same rate all the way through to the end of the innings.

KP fails again. :(

Smacking it hard to mid-on and running isn't sensible and certainly not what was required. There was no need for such a risky single.

Kohli doing a decent job with the run rate. England are still keeping it manageable though, match still wide open.

All set up for a Bairstow winning blast later.

Quite a well poised game actually. England will be looking to get 160ish with 20 overs left and see what happens.

PK almost bowled out already can only be good for England.

Another 50 by Cook. Has Atherton shut up yet?

Expecting Jadeja to do well here. Can foresee Yadav and Vinay being smacked around in the death later so we basically have to pick up wickets soon else it'll become easy for England. Got the upper hand atm though.

Almost certainly not, on Monday he interviewed Swanneh, talking about his genius captaincy in the Windies 20/20 series, and finished the article saying both limited over captaincies were still anyone's. Yes that 1-1 draw against a third string side, must really have moved Swann up the pecking order. I like Athers but he seems unable to let this one go for some reason.

KP innings, hmmm.

God, the commentary is appalling. Gavaskar and Shastri is my idea of hell.

Does anyone know why the selfish, money grabbing, heathen Indian government has denied Sky permission to broadcast?

I'd be quite interested in seeing the English batsmen's dot ball percentages. I reckon Cook's will be the lowest.
