Have not been Finn's biggest fan in the past, but currently he looks sharp, just hope he hits his areas on a more consistent basis. Good to see him developing.

Yeah. In hindsight he was lifted up to international cricket maybe a year or so too early, but back when he was dropped most people said he just needed a full season or two to gain more control, because his natural attributes were worth investing in. Hoping he's well on the way.

Yes, it's an interesting one in terms of whether it benefits the young player to get a taste of international cricket early in his career, train with the top players and get comfortable around the international scene so they know what is expected of them and the standards they must reach to be selected consistently.

Or whether they would be better spending more time with their clubs gaining experience at that level and build confidence both with their performances and confidence in understanding of their own game.

I think for a young player to be selected for their country, they must have an abudance of talent and potential, more than your regular player of that age. Again the other problem is knowing when to take them out of the spotlight and return them to County level.

Anyway, sorry for digressing from the thread topic.

Mmm. Back on topic, it seems it's taking forever for Swann to get a bowl again, and Samit was removed from the attack for the heinous crime of taking a wicket.

Waiting for Swan to rip out the remainder of Hyderabad's middle order. Reddy and Teja were the main guys who had to fire if they were to get anywhere close. Yadav is average and I've never even heard of the rest.

Woakes on a hat-trick apparently.

Misses the hat-trick but they are 101-5. Still no sign of Swann yet.

Last specialist batsman's been run out. Should be relatively straightforward from here.

I'd have expected Patel to have bowled a lot more than he has.

Why? not that he can't bowl more overs from here but it seems they wanted to get the seamers the majority of the overs.

149-6 in the 35th

Yeah, I'm not saying he necessarily should have, just that I thought they're taking his seriously as an ODI bowler now. So considering he's taken a wicket, I'd have thought Cook would keep him on.

I'm sure I read something that Cook said about bowlers not bowling full quotas like they would in proper games and between the 2 warm up games giving everyone a bowl.

163-9 Finn strikes twice in 2 balls.

Snicko isn't part of DRS.

When it works, HotSpot shows the presence of edges a lot clearer than slow-motion replays. Often all you need is one replay, the heat signature shows up, batsman is given out.

I'll say it again; the technology in the DRS system is there to aid the umpires, it is not there to make the decisions for them or replace them. In most cases, all of the technology works fine; that it might not have shown up a faint edge when Dravid nicked one isn't reason not to use it.
Another of its big strengths is in pad-bat decisions for LBWs, makes it clearly easier to see what the ball hit first.

Looking forward to this series and how England handles the challenge of playing India here! Should be a fun contest!
