What does it tell you about him?Warne is also a professional gambler. Does tell you a lot about the man.

Randiv bowled a noball to deny Sehwag a century in some random ODI. Does that mean Randiv should've been banned?
You are deadest a waste of oxygenExcellent, that settles the Warne/Waugh/TV debate then.
Not needed mateYou are deadest a waste of oxygen
It tells me that he can't stay away and like Fusion said, the bookie had influence over him. What does it tell you about him?
I see. So someone taking up poker playing in 2008 means they were under the influence of a bookmaker in the mid-1990s.It tells me that he can't stay away and like Fusion said, the bookie had influence over him.
The term "must be hung like a rogue elephant" springs to mind. He's an evil man that Shane Warne - I dread to think what sort of depths he has stooped to in order to inveigle his way into Elizabeth Hurley's life
To be fair it will be her who has to do the stooping in that relationship. He's an evil man that Shane Warne - I dread to think what sort of depths he has stooped to in order to inveigle his way into Elizabeth Hurley's life
Not really... Him wearing that shirt to court shows a lack of respect for the proceedings which, given that his actions placed a large question mark over the legitimacy of the game, is pretty bad. Warne liking gambling shows that... he likes gambling. Not that I agree with it but going by the logic of some if amirs tshirt is a bad sign then a strong interest in betting is also a bad sign, not my logic
That's bull****.It tells me that he can't stay away and like Fusion said, the bookie had influence over him.
"pretty bad" - really? I think it's trivial, the type of thing that's only relevant if you want to do a character assassination. Not really... Also yet to understand what's wrong with someone liking gambling. It's fun, FFS. Warne's clearly got the money to do it, I don't see how it reflects anything at all of his character other than the fact that he likes to play poker.
Your dislike of Shane Warne tells me you're an anti-Australian racist. It tells me that he can't stay away and like Fusion said, the bookie had influence over him.
is that true? is that why he's called punter?Yeah, but... what's the issue with someone deciding to become a professional poker player? It's a legimate, skill-based job where considerable money can be made.
Even for something that is pure gambling, why does it matter? Are you implying that Ricky Ponting is of questionable character because he too likes to bet? I like to play poker and have spent a bit of money at casinos in the past, but I don't see how in the hell that implies I have a sordid past....
I don't believe that Ponting is of questionable character and I don't have an issue with someone someone being a professional gambler. I am merely suspicious that someone who is a professional gambler once was involved wrongly with a bookie. That puts a stain on Warne's character for me and makes me wonder if he could have done more than just pass information.Yeah, but... what's the issue with someone deciding to become a professional poker player? Not really, it went public 4 years after the event. Not really. Just a bit suspicious that he provided info to a bookie. What would have happened if the bookie wanted something more the next time. Warne is lucky that it all went public and nothing more happened.
What if the 3 fixers had started off with providing info first and had been caught then and there. Some people here would have been arguing that they could have done more than that.
