You left yourself out? Bit modest.
I must admit that when deciding who plays a lot of it is to do with keeping everyone involved and rewarding those who keep up with the thread. In hindsight, I really shouldn't have made a player for myself.

Ah okay.

You're the one who puts all this effort in though, so I'm sure noone would begrudge you playing yourself. ;)

World Cup Group Match vs Bangladesh

The CWers won the toss and chose to bowl. Playing XI: Heads, Dharan, Ballich, Spark, Riley, Narang, Winne, Corrin, Capone, Phlegm, Dong.

The Bangladeshi openers made a good start, getting to 31 in quick time before Salahuddin edged Phlegm behind in the 6th over. At 53/1 after 11 overs, Winne put the game into CW's favour when his third ball trapped Aftab Ahmed lbw.

Bangladesh continued to progress at a good speed but at the same time continued to lose wickets. Phlegm had Saleh out lbw for 12, and soon after Winne bowled Arif Ahmed to pick up his second. Opener Anisur Rahman raised an impressive run-a-ball 50 in the 21st over to bring up the hundred in the 21st over.

Manjuraj Islam became Winne's third victim in the 22nd, and the very next ball Habibul Bashar fell victim to a great catch by Spark. On a hat-trick, Winne's next ball was a wide. Nonetheless he had taken Bangladesh down to a bleak-looking 105/6. His eighth over was a maiden that contained two very good looking lbw shouts, but had to be satisfied with 4-37 as he came off after 30 overs. Bangladesh had consolidated, and move to 131/6.

By this point only Rahman was blocking CW from running through them, and Corrin should have had the opener gone in his final over, only from Spark to drop a regulation bat-pad catch. The over was a maiden though, and Corrin came over with tight albeit wicketless figures. Phlegm turned out to be the man to get him, out for 74 in the 40th over.

Capone's final spell was far more expensive than the left-armer would be used to, and so Hasan (39 off 71) and Razzak (26 off 33) were able to push the Bangladeshis' score past 200. Dong eventually cleared up the pair, and when Capone had last man Aminul Islam lbw, they had reached 204 all out.

CW's opening partnership, though slower than Bangladesh's, was a healthy 58 before being broken by Aminul in the 15th over. It turned into something of a shaky start when both openers departed in successive overs - Narang for 32 off 45 and Heads for 26 off 37.

Ballich's 37 off 33 was enough counter to dispel thoughts of a comeback, as he put on 56 in 11 overs with Dharan. When Ballich was out stumped in the 26th over, CW were well ahead of the rate and needed only 89 from 24.3 overs.

Despite leaving his side in a good position, Ballich's dismissal triggered a collapse. Spark departed for just 1, Riley's 16 off 42 balls only served to bring the run rate back into the equation, and Winne panicked, run out calling for a single that was never there. When Corrin's frustrated 2 from 13 ended with a slog straight to deep midwicket, CW still needed 45 from the last 11 overs, and with just three wickets remaining.

Through all this, Bharani Dharan was still there. He brought up his 50 from 61 balls with a cover drive for four, and with Capone added another 32 to take CW closer to the line. However, Capone's constant playing and missing had meant his innings of 10 took up 33 deliveries. When Phlegm walked out, CW needed 18 off the last 3 overs, with Dharan on 60*.

The Bangladeshi spinners knew what to do, and kept Phlegm on strike. Dharan was only able to take a couple of singles, and though he had the strike for the final over, 16 runs were still needed.

He got two boundaries away, but it wasn't enough. They had lost.

Bangladesh won by 7 runs

WTH, we actually lost to the bangers?

You have got to be kidding me? I am actually finding it hard to believe.

Edit: I just took a look at my performance

World Cup Group Match vs India

Ikram came in for Riley as CW were put in to bat.

The opening partership fared similar to the previous match, this time putting together 44 in 11 overs before Narang was caught at slip off Gagandeep, and Heads did the same in the next over against Paul. The first difference came when Ballich was run out in the 14th for 7 runs, and CW were in early trouble.

It only went from bad to worse. Dharan fell for 10 and Spark for 16, at both of them scored at a strike rate of less than 50. CW were 89/5 in the 25th over. The recovery came from Ikram (37 off 49) and Winne (16 off 20), who put on 44 in 10 overs for the 6th wicket. However, Harbhajan returned for a second spell and fetched both out.

CW had been reduced to 137/7 and it was up to the bowlers to provide some respite. Corrin's 12 off 22 was ended by an over from Salvi that essentially finished the match, trapping Corrin lbw and finding Phlegm's edge two balls later. Capone (22 off 39) and Dong (16 off 31) were forced to simply see out the overs, and CW limped to a dismal 189/9.

Dong provided a glimmer of hope for the CW when the time came to bowl. His first over went for just one run and with the first ball of his second, Sehwag was trapped plumb in front. Dong made that over a maiden and next Tendulkar was out to Phlegm, caught in the deep.

Thoughts of CW coming by into it were suppressed by Rowland and Laxman, who put on 62 for the third wicket in good time. Laxman was caught off Capone for 23 off 32, but Rowland was the aggressor as he made his way towards 50. India were well placed on 82/3 after 20.

Rowland missed out on his 50, however, as Ikram came on to bowl and rattled the opener's furniture with his sixth delivery. Corrin was making his effect on the match known too - he bowled Deshpande for 1 in the 23rd and the two legspinners kept the pressure on. With India playing 5 bowlers, Harbhajan was in much earlier than expected, and the runs dried up. 103/5 was the score with 20 overs remaining.

Harbhajan and Gambhir inched their way towards the target. Another 9 overs passed until Capone came on for his customary death overs spell. With 56 needed off the final 11, Harbhajan attempted a leg glance but it was arial, and caught fantastically by Dharan diving to his left. He'd gone for 24 off 54, and suddenly CW were right back in it.

When Phlegm's first delivery of his return spell clipped Gambhir's off stump - sending him on his way for a pained 29 off 62 - they had wrenched the match back into their favour. When the last ball of the same over trapped Bhandari lbw, it was hard to see how they could lose.

Soon one of Salvi's slogs turned into a steepler for Narang to catch, and Phlegm ended it when he had Gagandeep leg before. The CWers had pulled off a remarkable victory to keep themselves in the cup.

CW won by 45 runs
