From what I have seen of Sadaf, he is a pretty good bowler. You can see his videos on YouTube. He also has a very good FC average.
Yeah, just saw a few and looks good to me. I'm guessing he's about 6'3" or thereabouts (judging from the video) and that's always an advantage with the left-handed angle.

I am nowhere close to an expert on the subject, but he seems to jump in the crease diagonally rather than going straight. Rectifying that (without much ado) would help him to add a yard or so to utlise his run-up's momentum better. Looks to be an angle and seam exponent, rather than a big swinger of the ball. Just hope that Pakistan's historical over-reliance on pace doesn't cause them to neglect good medium-paced talents.

Addition: Saw Nasir Malik bowling vidoes by the same uploader. Anyone knows if that lad is any good?

What are the Thoughts on Samiullah Khan Niazi?

Missed the last domestic season but has the best figures of any bowler in Pakistan domestic cricket right now, and played a couple of ODI's a while back before he was sidelined.

And also remember Anwar Ali, Jamshed Ahmed being quite impressive in that u-19 WC in Colombo.

Specially Jamshed who has played a very few number of FC matches since(though he is doing well recently), while Anwar Ali has failed to make the step up with same degree of success.

Anwar had a very ugly action. When I saw him for the first time, I swore he'd end up doing his back sooner rather than later. The swing really excited me, but had an uneasy feeling that it wouldn't be sustained for long.

Difficult to explain, ya know. Some actions just scream V-U-L-N-E-R-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y when you see them.

I think Anwar Ali has lost his banana swing. As for Samiullah Khan Niazi, isn't he old (but so is Cheema I guess).

There is an interview on PakPassion with Sadaf Hussain, who mentions that he loses pace due to his follow through.

Agree with Cevno that the pitch was a real road and not conducive to fast bowling especially new ball bowling. Having said that none of these bowlers seem to be good with the new ball in any case

Kyle Jarvis was landing it in good areas today. The new ball is always a weapon for those who can use it.
I shouldn't be using this example, but you know as well as I do that Asif and Aamir would have given them hell with the new ball even on this track.

Asif may have but not sure about Amir. Asif was a seam bowler primarily so he would be less reliant on the conditions I suppose

Amir's release was so good (especially after he found his feet in test cricket) that he would have swung it anyway. We had a f/c cricketer who played with us occasionally and he used to make the new ball swing bananas even in the dry conditions of peninsular Gujarat in temperatures hovering around 40 degrees celsius.

I reckon it lies in your hands. You either have it, or you don't. :) Amir definitely had it and Asif, of course, was a seam-exploiting machine. Gutted that the machine got bugged!

Is that a major problem at present though as Gul and Wahab Riaz will no doubt return anyway and take the new ball and the guys picked now know they have things they can work on.

lol...interesting choice of words..........awta

I also really enjoyed watching Asif bowl. Was the most enjoyable bowler to watch on in the world for me. Even ahead of Steyn (and I rate Steyn quite highly)

Howe_zat, I think that's an indication of the type of people who frequent PakPassion rather than Pakistanis in general. PakPassion is a big favourite amongst teens. They are ones who have been brought up on T20 and therefore hate Misbah and love Afridi. The seniors on that website obviously appreciate Misbah for his role in the team and for Pakistani test cricket.

I think Cheema deserves another chance.I still can't believe i played Cricket with him around 8-9 years ago (Yes you will get to hear that everytime his name pops up).He looks like an honest trier, and even though i had reservations about his ability at the international stage going by the first day of the match,8 wickets on debut on a pitch like this is very impressive even when you keep the quality of opposition in mind.He seems better than Tanvir Ahmed atleast.Maybe he can be a decent backup to Gul and Wahab.

No matter what happens,he has a great chance of making the squad for the series vs Srilanka, unlike Sohail Khan. He's 32,and even for a fast bowler,he still has 3-4 years left in him because his body has not suffered from the wear and tear of International Cricket, and also because he started his domestic career fairly late compared to other players.

Also,Taufeeq Umar should be kicked out once and for all.Make Azhar Ali open the innings, and bring Asad Shafique at no.3.

I don't think Fawad will play for us again, until Afridi comes back. The same goes for Ahmed Shahzad.Afridi apparently rated both highly.
