Only listening not watching, but they're totally convinced it was out. Also, they are relaying the umpires conversation that they can hear and say there is a good sound.

Talk about the umpire taking liberties with the brief he has been given. Bizarre.

The Indian team at the balcony seems pissed and Dravid too.

That doesn't sound like a nick, though.

That's not a good call by the third ump. Whoever he is.

OK so snicko suggests he did hit it, but still...

FFS. Prepare for endless complaining about the UDRS when that's just a stupid decision.
Ravi Shastri has already started ranting about that:p.

The umpires seriously need to use the technology better tbh and not exceed their briefs.

Weird. I really didn't think he hit it, though I'm watching with no sound. Not sure how to feel about that decision.

Aggers explained on TMS that the third umpire has a much higher quality sound feed than we can hear, so they are able to make these decisions correctly... and therefore fans shouldn't get worked up about these.

They need to clarify. Umpires have become a lot more eager to give thin edges out than, say, a year ago. I don't mind that per se but it needs to be consistent.

That sounds fair and sensible, but why don't they give us that audio feed when making that decision?

OMM!

Erasmus is watching that in HD with the sound feed almost perfect.

Snicko confirms he was right. HotSpot is becoming farcical it can't detect thin edges!

Dravid's reaction worries me more though. He must have known he hit that!

And Rahane out to the short ball again. 2 innings, 2 short ball dismissals. Worrying for him!

Not sure, tbh. Is it in part to do with what they're actually using to listen? I mean, when you're on a really good set of headphones you can hear things a lot more clearly than when you have your TV on.

As I've said many, many times now, you sometimes don't feel thin edges.

Don't think either was too worrying tbh.

The last match was a wide ball which he was trying to slog cut in a T20.
Today he was trying to guide the ball fine but it got big on him after handling all the short bowling well before that. Was a pretty good ball too.

Dernbach - he just isn't good enough away from the death.

England need to keep more of his overs back if he's going to play.
