Only Flintoff was able to expose it. Anderson got a lucky leg side glove and in the recent series all his dismissals were to good length balls.
That's often how it goes with good short pitched bowling - it messes up your footwork and means the full ball is infinitely more dangerous.

True, that's how Flintoff got him out the 2nd time. But in the recent series, the short ball had absolutely nothing to do with his dismissals. It was just good seam bowling (+run out).

No, in this series, the glaring problem was his complete inability to score what almost any other left hander would term free runs - delivery after delivery on his pads or hips.

Just because he couldn't score on the leg side doesn't mean that brought about his dismissal. It's not like he got frustrated and played rash shots. He got out on the defense just outside off-stump because of accurate line and length bowling.

What else would you call his dismissal in the first innings at Melbourne? And at Sydney?

Dunno if you can say short ones had nothing to do with it. That he was a touch late on his big drives suggests a hesitancy to get fully on the front-foot which I'd suggest was him covering for the possibility of rib balls (and he got a few).

Mostly it was because his head had been ****ed up with dopes trying to change him. Once he got D'Costa to tell him to ignore those ****wits and just play his natural game the runs started flowing again. He will probably look ugly his whole career to the purists, but I have no doubt he's a 10,000 run test player.

Being picked whilst woefully out of nick didn't help at all tbh.

In case everyone hadn't noticed... SL trying to emulate our selection panel as best they can, with their selections:

Hilarious number of bowlers there.
Christ, and they still found the room to drop half the bowlers from the England tour. They actually don't have a clue what their attack is.
Tbh i was actually a bit pleased with the squad:-O
The top 7 is pretty much set, especially after P.jaya's batting in Eng, Chandimal really has no place in the test line up currently. Only selection I couldn't care for is Herath.

Nnanden to claim Copeland, only for PEWS to find a post about him from Andre in 1995.
Andre was the first member to post any meaningful info about him but he only beat you by a couple of days and your first post on him contained the  emoticon, so points to you there. Interestingly though, Kylez mentioned him before both of you as Copeland coaches his little brother.

EDIT: Pretty rude of me to make you do the work, but what about O'Keefe?

Spot on Howe. His selection in the 'A' squad to Zimbabwe was his first longer format higher honours. As well as playing in some LO stuff there, he played in the All Stars 20/20 at the beginning of our summer and in an OD Match against the Lions aswell, because good FC stats means he must be good at the other formats too WAIT A MINUTE

**** yeah Trent. Don't really care whether or not he looks cut out for Test matches, he's earnt a spot in the XI a hell of a lot more than many other recent debutants.
