Norwood's on Fire
Here is one such instance, in fact

Think it is a futile argument as to which one of Ishant, Broad or Sreesanth is best. AFAIC, Broad isn't anywhere near the top 3 bowlers in England. One hoped that his career would tee off after the Oval in 2009, which was the only time in his career when he actually justified a place in the side, but the fact of the matter is that he simply lacks the skills to take wickets on a regular basis. Seems to me to be more of a partnership breaker than a person who can run through a side. I know he has had his days, but as a bowler alone there is absolutely no logic as to why we have a guy who averages 36 after 36 tests with the kind of bowling options that we have going around.

Onions a better bowler by a country mile IMO especially when we play in England.

Neither bowling attack that's due to tour is better than Bangladesh's.
This post caused quite a stir, but it's the final sentence of Cevno's reply I like best

Really?

Are you seriously suggesting that the Indian attack is worse than Bangladesh's?

Zaheer alone is better than 3 of their bowlers combined.

Hopefully the English batsman think the same,as they will be in for a not so pleasant surprise.

tbf most Englishmen here weren't exactly resolute in their defence of Broad before, well, that incredible spell of four or five overs at the middle order after lunch on Day 3 at Lord's.
Most of us were annoyed he was shoved straight back into the side when he hadn't been given a chance to get properly fit after injury.Nobody said he was a dud just that he needed to find some form and playing international crciket as he was was doing him no favours through no fault of his own.

Mm, true. I agreed with that but I thought some of the criticism/rhetoric on here had gone waaaaaaay OTT before the series.

Some of that was because Bresnan had bowled well in the one dayers I guess and people wanted him in the team instead.

Most England supporters, along with all those that had seen more of him, who were suggesting Broad should be dropped - and this includes me ftr - suggested it as a method to try and get him back to his best. I don't think anyone who dismissed him completely had a fair reason to at all.

Once it was seen he was back to his best, and surapssed it, there was no need to discuss what to do with him.

This thread has gone and made me read the old match threads again btw. Which is always good fun (aside from the snark)

My post on another website. It isn't in contention, but as far as bad predictions go..

Why do I always have to be so wrong? Broady just had to channel his inner Flintoff and have the game of his (and several other's) life.
Order to be restored by him being **** at Trent Bridge though, even though those conditions should actually suit him.
FTR, Broad's still s***.

Advocating dropping Broad for the first test hardly qualifies you for a Greigy given Bresnan's performances from the second test onwards. I think almost all of us would have stuck with Broad without question had it not been for the quality of the first reserve.

Comparing him to India's seamers though...

Spot on, it's one of the things that's got on my **** to say the least before the series started and spent quite a few posts trying to point out the reasons why he's been off the boil especially at the start of this summer.

This thread needs more of CW's guns in it. Right spirit and all that. And I'm having far too much fun with it, someone find a guff prediction by me please.

So, meanwhile, Uppers:

I expect India to have the better batting lineup, but by how much? It's quite likely that Dravid won't be there by next summer, and even if he is, he'll be well past his peak.
