*Official* Fourth Test at The Oval

Potentially, there's been a few decisions like that. I like that we're not slavishly relying on Hotspot though.

I know originally the point was to reverse howlers, but if the decision is clearly wrong as in this case, it has to be overturned. Anyhow, Dravid on the radio interview said he hit it and he was happy with the decision, seems fine in that case to me.

Anyhow... Looking forward... we need to get on with it today. Looks like there may be some rain late afternoon.

With Dravid gone, it's feasible that we could get through the rest at reasonable pace. Mishra will play some shots but shouldn't last long, Raina and Gambhir should be easy pickings, Dhoni could go either way. Tendulkar is the only man who I can see saving it for India, but hopefully his woeful series will end abruptly.

I hope Sachin doesn't get his 100th 100 today, there'll be loads of palaver over him, when the plaudits should be firmly with Dravid.

Mishra gets inline to the quicks and can give Swann a whack, that’s 2 things which the likes of VVS haven’t done much this series. Shame the bowling means he is unlikely to play test cricket anytime soon again.

Hoping for another day like yesterday, tbh. India showing some fight but ultimately coming up short.

Cloudless sky in CB7, hope that's replicated in SE11.

Which forecasts have you been reading?

Outside chance in the last hour. I would hope it doesn't come to that.

Tomorrow's going to be appalling, though. Should mean we get to watch a review of the series instead of whatever meaningless CB40 game gets rained off.

tbh this 100 100 hype is actually bull ****. you can't add apples and oranges.
it's 51 test hundreds, 48 odis, not 99.

whats important is that india save this test

I hope India save this test. dravid deserves a draw here for his efforts in the series, particularly this match. (it was easily his best hundred of the 3).

India needs tons of luck on a pitch that has lost its top.

Just gone past you on the train, headed towards London now, still just as gloriously sunny.

btw the reason is that tendulkar SELLS!

as soon as writers add anything remotely to do with tendulkar to their articles, they get hits like crazy.

it's demand and supply.

If he gets his 100 hundreds today, he deserves the plaudits he gets tbf irrespective of his performance in 1 series.

Yes, Dravid shouldn't be ignored either.

This is complete madness from our selectors, have they stopped taking fitness test before declaring whether a player returning from injury is fit or not, first zaheer now sehwag

England v India: Virender Sehwag likely to miss limited-overs leg | Cricket News | England v India 2011 | ESPN Cricinfo
WTF?

He was clearly not fit and it didn't take a genius to notice too. His footwork and his throwing showed it all.

Was set up to fail and a panic move and it didn't pay off as was most likely the case. Disgusting selections this series.:@

Yeah, I know. :) I don't have anything against him getting it in the ODIs, I'd just rather not today!

It's weird, though, how your own views on players are influenced by what you've seen. For on reason or another, I've don't remember watching live (including on tv) Tendulkar playing a great innings against us. For Dravid, Lara and Ponting (god knows how many bloody times) I've seen a few, and though I know intellectually that Tendulkar is the greatest of them all, those three will always come to mind when we talk about great batsmen.

Chennai wasn't that far back tbf?

And he has played a few other innings against England too like Edgbaston 1996 of the top of my head and also his first test century.

almost all his top knocks against england came before the mid 00's.
since the mid 00's he's not done anything special against england except that one knock in chennai.

plus these days he tries not to do anything special. more of an accumulator.

No, you misunderstood what I was saying :) I don't mean Tendulkar against England, I mean how innings I have seen personally have an impact on my view of a player.

Ah right!! I just assumed you are more likely to see the innings against England live than anyone else.:p

Yeah, the innings you see of a player live obviously has a impact. Haven't thought about it clearly, but would probably be a similar case for me with some players.

In England, 1996 Birmingham (Nasser's first 100) was pretty special albeit against a very average but home superior England side. These were the dark days when Ronnie Charles Irani was playing test cricket and England were ****house, India away even more so but it was a top knock nevertheless in a losing cause.
