He usually does, hence you have oddities like his innings at Lord's in '07. It's much more common for him to play too aggressively than too defensively, his failures in the previous two games certainly weren't through not playing enough shots. But he certainly should have put England under a lot more pressure in the first innings at Lord's.

Never thought I'd live to see the day, tbh.

However, as I said before the series, even if we'd have snuck it 2-1 I still think we'd be able to consider ourselves #1 regardless.

Nice it's official tho to avoid any heckling from the cheap seats.
