*Official* Third Test at Edgbaston

Jacknife

International Captain
bowler short both times.

without harby in the 2nd.
Agree on the first test but the second, Bhaji only stopped bowling in the second innings after 9 overs after he was going at over 5 rpo , then Yuvraj and Raina picked up the slack and bowled 19 overs between them, so I'd hardly call that a bowler down.

Yuvraj and Raina are BINOs though.

I don't really see how any of that matters in the discussion though. I don't care about over-rates but surely the quality of the bowling being sent down by Yuvraj and Raina doesn't make it harder to keep up with the rate; it doesn't take longer to bowl pies.

Takes longer to fetch the ball, though

No, just takes longer to fetch from the boundary though.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, deja vu all over again.
I hope things that happen AFTER this are same as for England too.. :p

Seriously, there is a very simple thing ailing Indian cricket.. No, it is not the IPL. No, it is not complacency. No it is not all the flat tracks.. All these are factors but the biggest one is that there are a LOT of Indian players who are playing on with injuries and niggles.. The lack of attention to fitness is the most worrying aspect about Indian cricket. I am sure the skill is there and lets face it, every team will face an impact when their main bowlers are out.. My problem is the fact that blokes like Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj and Zaheer (perhaps) all played the IPL WITH injuries.. I don't have a problem with people taking a break from the Windies series or anything.. But Indian team management have to start taking the tough calls on people playing on with injuries or fatigue.

And just looking at how Mishra has been going, how much worse would Ashwin have been, seriously? And he may have just been a better bat and fielder. :(

Haha no. The biggest problem facing India is that England are miles and miles and miles better than them at cricket.

It's disappointing that this series has not brought what I hoped for: a tight contest. In a way, I expected this. Onbeforehand, I couldn't see India buy 20 wickets.

Many people have made fair points about the Indian team. The way I see it England are on their way to dominate Test Cricket. In a way that is just bad luck for India.

Runs in the bank before the declaration. Im with those that say bat all day tomorrow if possible, maybe give the Indians an hr before close.
Indeed the obvious way to go. However, I wouldn't be surprised if England get bowled out around tea with a 500 run lead. Amidst the English slugfest, where every Matt, Tim & Stuart get quick 50s, Bopara perishes with single figures :-O .
