It's a funny one because Marshall played only Pakistan and India in the sub continent and took 71 wickets at 23 in 19 tests.Hadlee averaged 12.97 in the subcontinent after 1980, albeit from only 7 matches.
He is, however, a better batsmen than Marshall, and that is what is needed considering either Akram and Warne would have to bat no.8 if Marshall plays, which I consider to be one spot too high for them.
Lara is also a left-hander and was renowned for playing spin.
Hadlee playing against just Pakistan and India averages 28 in the sub continent , he took 41 wickets in 9 tests but he took a boat load against Sri Lanka, took 27 wickets in 4 tests at 12, bring his average down to 22.
Personally I'd always play Marshall because he's the dog's bollocks and then I'd move Akram up a place in the order.
