ICC Greatest Test Team

Yes no protective gear and sticky wickets, plus if they made the modern players use the old bats. I would think the old team would win tbh, but not by as much as the modern team's margin if they played under todays conditions. :)
Agree with this.

Certainly not a bad team:)

I would personally have Marshall over both Paddles and the Khan but then again I would have Lillee over them all:)

My team in a time warp see if you can guess when the cut off point was:)

Grace
Trumper
Hill
Ranji
Jackson
Faulkner
Lohman
Blackham
Barnes
Turner
Spofforth

lohman at no.7 is a crime. bring in rhodes or noble at 7. keep blackham at 8. push loahman down to 9 and drop turner.

Holy tail, batman!

Room for Warwick in there? I know he had his finest hour in the 20-21 series, but I think the majority of his career was before 1914.

A Team of the 70s and 80s:

B. Richards

V. Richards
Chappell
Pollock
Imran Khan (c)
Marsh (wk)

Would give this team even odds at beating a team from any other era.

fast bowling and middle order for the 80's, 70's team trumps it for me, Richards, Pollock and Chappell is a nighmare middle order, then to have to face Marshall and Lillee, terror.

Yes a bit of a tail but a bowling line up which I am hoping will not leave many to chase:)

From what I read there was a 50s and 60s team and there was an 80s and 90s team.

Where is the 60s and 70s team that you are talking about?? :p

Would like to see this game, perhaps the speed of Tyson or the different bowling of Iverson may swing it for 50 - 60 team. If they were included:happy:

You might want to put Malcolm Marshall in place of Hadlee in the SC. And no Tendulkar in the SC?

Hadlee averaged 12.97 in the subcontinent after 1980, albeit from only 7 matches.

He is, however, a better batsmen than Marshall, and that is what is needed considering either Akram and Warne would have to bat no.8 if Marshall plays, which I consider to be one spot too high for them.

Lara is also a left-hander and was renowned for playing spin.

How about Sehwag in subcontinent, considering there is nothing to assess Hobbs' performance in these conditions?
