India were never really the #1 team. They got the results and played well, but never had that x-factor about them. I think we all knew this, even the Indians fans deep down knew this. Sides like England and South Africa are simply better. The problem with both though are that they have choked quite a lot. SA still choke but England got their act together and now are a formidable side.

This is so funny, its like being Cartman in that South Park episode where he meets those people who have arses for faces and can't laugh any more.

18 months at the top then back to the pack. it's wonderful. So, so good.
Indeed good sir

If a side chokes, how can it be better than the side which doesn't?

Give me a very good but flawed team who maximize their potential over a team of stars one day, dire the next any day.

Gives More Credibility to England, they can lose 2-3 and replace them and not miss a beat

You know there is one thing I don't understand, why do people keeping using the rankings to determine the "best" team? The rankings only reflect which team's been the most consistent over a 3-4 years time period. And that's what India have been: consistent. We haven't blown away anyone, but we've drawn and won series barring this series, the last time we lost a series was against SL in mid 08. So this will, in all probability be our first series loss in 3 full years.

It's irrelevant anyway as his descriptions are nonesense.

Agree completely, I was just talking on potential, I did say India played well to get to #1, but were never really going to stay there.

India aren't a three man team tbh, and I think you know it.
Of course, he said "top 3" so I was commenting on a general team, not India specifically.

Haha true. South Africa still have issues with their bowling and a little batting while England aren't quite there yet. Just need a number six worthy of the name and they're even better.

Wasn't long ago that it was the Anderson and Swann show, Cook and KP were batting like rubbish, and Bopara was playing test cricket...

Cricket's so awesome. No one expected the likes of Bresnan, Swann or Trott to be so immense.
