*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

That might have been very sportsmanlike and loved by CWers but Bell started running the fourth. He was out.

Little baby Bell must have cried in the tea break & Dhoni gifted him a second chance.
It was definitely out going by the rules.
But hats off to Dhoni.

Yep this. Good stuff. And SS, I wouldn't've appealed. Trust me on that. A warning to the batsman perhaps but straight out appeal and no back-down, no way
Wish I could believe that tbh. But IMO if you hadn't, you should have some serious questions asked about your captaincy.

And so should Dhoni. It's all great and heartwarming and all that ****, but it's within the rules and it's Bell's fault. Your job is to win the ****ing series. I hate this recall, even if Bell gets out next over and India end up winning.

Other captains, Strauss included, have done the proper thing (the proper thing in my mind is to do what it takes to help their team win). This sportsman like 'making a statement' crap is just bull****.

What would have happened if there was no Tea?:p
It only happened beacuse it was the last ball of the session, right? Both batsmen nedded uo neaar the Pavillion to get a cuppa!

From cricinfo: Stupendous gesture from Dhoni, assuming Praveen or the other fielders did not signal that was four.

Actually, I thought Praveen's body language did signal a boundary. It wasn't like he was desperately looking for the ball, unaware of its location. To me it looked like he thought it was a boundary....

Dhoni will get crucified in Indian Media by some then, unfortunately.
I hope this doesn't happen, and that plenty of past Indian players come out and give MS their support. He did a wonderful thing for the game.

But just think about it. If that had stood, we could have well been heading into Ind-Aus 07/8 territory wrt relations between the two teams. I defy anyone to say we want to get anywhere near that.
Yep this. Wonder if MS and the Indians gave that any thought during Tea?

I think that decision from Dhoni on its own might have huge implications for the future relationship between India-England cricket ties. Full credit to him for repealing the decision, deserved the standing ovation.
