His last two series were against the West Indies and South Africa.Matches against The Windies and NZ have to be taken with a grain of salt. He averaged 36 against them and looked average. He was averaging 40 last year against quality sides.
my thoughts exactlyIt was a big mistake for Sharma to have a haircut. He looks less threatening this way!
Ok, my mistake. But in 2011 which includes 1 SA test, he has taken 20 wickets @ 35.7. Last year he took 43 @ 40.7. That is not great. He had one good innings against SA at the start of the year but he's been pretty toothless since. Plus he doesn't look on song and the same bowler he once was. He isn't getting as much side spin and more importantly overspin meaning he can't decieve in flight. His last two series were against the West Indies and South Africa.
We held them to two draws tbh. All the batsmen bar Taylor played very well.Matches against The Windies and NZ have to be taken with a grain of salt. He averaged 36 against them and looked average. He was averaging 40 last year against quality sides.
And Trott?? That's why i was asking.
??Why do people keep saying this? In his last two series he's been fantastic.
Look, I'm not exactly his biggest fan. I just think it would be strange to drop him now.??
He's terrible.
Agreed. Choose the most likley possible successor to him. Play them both In India where they play 2 spinners. Then continue on with the new spinner and drop Harbhajan.Look, I'm not exactly his biggest fan. I just think it would be strange to drop him now.
England are in effect 16-2 with Trott injured. Game in the balance I think. A lot will depend on whether Bell can see the job through. Wickets have come in bursts in this match. This game is slipping away from us.
