Disagree with Goughy a bit about risking a n00b, tbh. Of course, it's not ideal but it didn't hurt Trott himself when he was picked in a live Test of an Ashes series, his team bouncing back from an utter thumping in the previous game.

Ideally, you'd pick the experienced guy, sure. But if the experienced guys are meh/Bopara/Collingwood but another option is gunning it, pick them, if you're ready, you're ready, etc.

Sounds like Trott possibly won't bat, they have just said on CWOTV that he went in the nets this morning, hit a couple of balls and walked off shaking his head. Without Trott, reckon the task is probably too much for England

It's no so much picking a debutant but picking a 20-year old people are bothered by. Trott had been a county performer for years after all. But I agree.

Was that him trying to bat without pain relief though?

Might dose him up later before he bats and see if he can keep an end going to eek a few more runs out. Depending on the situation of course.

The fact that Dhoni inserted the opposition at Lord's is an indication of how much Sehwag means to India. It was also probably the first sign that even the strong-minded Dhoni was starting to doubt India's bowling. He must have felt that India's underdone attack, especially Zaheer, who was returning from injury, would need all the help they could get, and consequently bowled first under cloudy skies.
He doesn't half spout some bollocks.

So he's trying to claim that Dhoni bowling first "under cloudy skies", admittedly, because his bowlers wanted assistance is a sign of doubt and insecurity. What an utter mong. Every captain in the world would have bowled first and, lo and behold, they ended up being the best bowling conditions in the match.

Wow. Bowling first under favourable conditions is apparently an indication of the lack of confidence of your bowlers..

EDIT: oops. missed those couple of posts.

A great day ahead. As I predicted yesterday too,it was one the best day test cricket ever witnessed. The case may be similar today as well.

Bloody hell Warne looks fitter than he ever did when he was playing Test cricket - Liz Hurley must be a remarkable woman
