Lancs in serious danger of messing up a great start here, having reduced Notts to 27 for 5 at one stage.

Lancs in another thriller for the 2nd week running by looks of it. Another cracking match going on involving them. Notts 20-1 2nd dig and lead by 44.

Jimmy Taylor captains Leicestershire against Essex who are 82-3, Bopara 14*

Essex getting bogged down. 4 maidens in a row. At least. Only 4 overs show up on the cricinfo page so could be more.

All down to Jimmy's captaincy, for mine.

Anyone watching the televised game? What was that spat between Colville and (I think)) Allot all about - just caught the tail end of it?

Shocker of a performance by Yorkshire, they let them get 30 too many and that over from Siddy that went for 20 odd, was a horror show, with the drop catch, that they paid for and full tosses.
The batting is directionless and they didn't seem to go in with a plan about how to get the total. Story of the season tbf summed up in that one game

Lancs blown away by Notts. Tight up at the top now with 13 points seperating the top 3 and Warwicks in 3rd having game in hand.

Interesting end in prospect. Like the fact that Warwickshire still have 2 games with Hampshire to go as well - but the big one starts on Monday at Liverpool, think if we win that one then Lancashire are all but out of it.

Win the toss, bat first, score 488 and get beat by an innings with 2 sessions remaining.

As the man said.......It's a funny old game.

ESSEX!!!

Brilliant, brilliant stuff. It does sometimes feel as if we've got a one-man bowling attack in Masters. He also contributed just shy of 50 runs to a massively important 100 run partnership with Bopara.

Superb comeback after day one.

Hamish Marshall bowling again and taking wickets. Didn’t turn the arm over last year but in 2009 he averaged 22 with the ball and this year he is averaging 17 with the ball. Remarkable considering he bowled over 60 overs in FC cricket in England in 2008 and took the one wicket.

Good to see 3 London cricketers in the U19 side – and great to see one is from East London. Lewisham’s Daniel Bell-Drummond seems to be head and shoulders the most talented batsman in the side as well. Though all 3 are cricketing products of public schools mind. Can’t imagine Drummond would have played anything but rounders or bastardised quick cricket if he stayed in Lewisham and didn’t attend Millfield.

On the U19s, South Africa's Prenelan Subrayen seems to be a star in the making. The 17 year old has just bossed it.
