Odd that Bresnan came in ahead of Broad after the latter's 70* last time around. Plus I'd like to have seen Broad given the opportunity to repeat his performance at the end of last summer after Pakistan reduced us to something similar.

Beyond that, this must come as a shock to some folks in the media who seemed to think the series was sewn up after Lord's. You'd really hope they could read the game rather than the final margin of victory, but apparently not. Chickens roosting and all that.

Today's interesting stat is that it's been 37 years since India lost anything after than the first test in England.
