Er, what? "Benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman"?No bat involved in that appeal. Should be 4 down now.
Erasmus, IIRC, doesn't tend to give LBWs unless they're fairly plumb, big believer in the "doubt" rule.3 Marginal ones for Praveen now. Bit unlucky.
The appeal was strangely toned down there.
Appalling.GIMH does post like this.No one says anything to him.Probably he is an old & senior member on this forum.Another thing I would not love to mention but have to is that He is not Indian.
The things that make me sad is that some people say Cook,Trott, etc are great.Best in the world..blah blah..They are right. (Although i don't doubt the abilities of these players).
But if someone mentions Praveen,Sree,Ishant,Raina....BCCI...UDRS.....then these are referred as ****,crap..etc..Where does their language sense go then??
Sorry to be mentioning things at wrong places, but truth is truth.
It was just clipping the top of leg stump and no one behind the stumps appealed. Seems like there was some doubt to me.No bat involved in that appeal. Should be 4 down now. Pathetic. Talk about getting your butt saved by the umpires.
Replacing Not out Bowden with Not out Erasmus?Erasmus, IIRC, doesn't tend to give LBWs unless they're fairly plumb, big believer in the "doubt" rule.
Which makes the Cook decision somewhat surprising, I guess.
Once again, he's a long way down. The batsmen are both out of their crease so they're actually further forward then they look.clipping top of leg stump - how can anyone give that?
but i have to say that it looked closer than that live
Erasmus is a good ump IIRC. Can't say the same for Bowden, who seems to conjure up inside edges where the bat has missed the ball by about 10cm.Replacing Not out Bowden with Not out Erasmus?
Hopefully he is as consistent as Bowden though. Seems a bit nervous everytime a appeal goes to him.
There really hasn't been much doubt in these appeals live though. And NOBODY would've had a problem had they been given out. At the very least, England should be down 3 now.Er, what? "Benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman"?
No, not really. There has been plenty of doubt. "Nobody would have had a problem had they been given" doesn't even come close to cutting it on LBWs. Probably, yes, KP would've been given by most but he was sufficiently down the crease that there was enough doubt in the umpire's mind for him to give it not out. There really hasn't been much doubt in these appeals live though.
