*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

biased indian

International Coach
He just also advocated making Saha the next India captain and removing Dhoni too.:-O
and he also said this...think he was confused :)

India has a very strong top five. They are fielding their top four Test bowlers at present. They've also got one of the best wicketkeeper-batsmen in action today. There's little need for change, except for the balance, which is sorely lacking.

Kumble had a decent game in 07 didn't he? Can't see India leaving Singh out. Looks like the pitches there this year have been fairly balanced for batting and bowling, plenty of decent scores with the odd low innings.

England will probably be helped by the back to back games, Zaheer can't be fully fit so you either take a chance on him or pick a fat Sreesanth or Munaf. Sachin will probably be well by then but how much practice will he be able to do and Gambhir will be getting treatment all week too and might not get as much practice as he would like to make sure he doesn't get hit again.

Only question is Tremlett for us, and the fact that Finn wasn't called up says to me they think he will be fine. Can't wait for Friday, India can only improve but England also have plenty to work on despite a crushing win.

Lets hope we have a cracking game again and the weather stays good.

Would be interesting what would happen if say Cook were to get injured on the morning of the match?

Happened to India against SA at home where first one batsman got injured 1/2 day before the match(Laxman?) and then his replacement Rohit Sharma got injured in the morning of the match. Ended up having to play Saha as a specialist batsman.

Well they would have a choice between Michael Vaughan, Nasser Hussain and Geoffrey Boycott.

Edit - Nick Knight and Michael Atherton too. No wonder they have openers galore in the commentary box at Sky:p.

Khtaml has ruined a few careers some of which I don't regret (e.g. Sami)
Yeah, Sami's story is very sad indeed. Had Khatmal taken all the catches, the poor guy would have ended up with an awesome average of 48 - almost as good as the great Agarkar's. Instead of 52. What a loss for world cricket!

Well it is England; it wouldn't take them very long to get a replacement to the ground.
Precisely. If someone went down we'd draft in another batsman, probably Taylor, get Trott to open and rejig the order.

Then we have a ready made excuse if it goes wrong as well.

My changes would be:

1) Draft Irfan Pathan in as a wild card entree for Khan. Horses for courses, gentlemen.

2) Mishra in for Harbhajan

3) Morgan should be given a one-way ticket to Dublin and Bresnan played as the extra bowler. Prior is good enough for no. 6 against this attack, I reckon.
